Alejo's Hideaways presents our Casa In The Air.... Experience the majesty of the Andes mountains in our spacious penthouse in Pereira, the heart of Colombia's coffee country!

The penthouse has a unique style & flow with views everywhere you look. It has three floors, each about 900 sq ft:

- the social floor with an open-plan living/dining room, half bath, balcony, kitchen, laundry room, & private office

- the personal floor with four bedrooms and three bathrooms (two ensuite) plus another balcony

- the roof terrace with breathtaking views!

We are located in a friendly three-tower community in the exclusive Los Alamos neighborhood. Walk to restaurants, shops, parks, and the university. Ubers and taxis are always available, and the central bus terminal is nearby too, where you’ll find the MetroCable gondola line that takes you through the air across town.

The apartment has three floors, each about 900 sq ft:

The first floor has a full kitchen, laundry, and a half-bath. The open-plan social area includes a 75” smart TV and a dining table for 8. Pluses are a large balcony with outdoor dining for 6 and a comfortable private office with a daybed. Work wired or on wifi connected to symmetrical fiberoptic internet at gigabit speed.

On the second floor, you’ll find four spacious bedrooms and three full baths (two bedrooms are ensuite) and a cozy balcony for viewing the open space preserve and the active volcano Nevado de Ruiz.

The third floor is a huge tiled terrace with lounge chairs, umbrella, and outdoor shower. You can look in all directions to take in both the sunrise and the sunset.

The tower is next to a protected open space, which brings all kinds of birds to visit us. We wake up to birdsong as well as the sounds of the city. The tropical highland climate alternates rain and sun every day, and mountain breezes help to keep things fresh.

Guests have access to the entire apartment except a locked storage unit in the garage and a locked storage space in the laundry area.

The Coffee Country

In the coffee country, you can hike in natural parks, visit charming small towns, tour coffee plantations, and soak in hot springs — and Pereira is central to all of them. We are happy to recommend places to go and drivers to help you get there.

About Us

We started our business, Alejo's Hideaways, in 2014 with a converted garage in Oakland, California. In addition to Casa In The Air, we have a house in South Florida called Casa Las Plumerias, a house in Palm Springs called Casa Azahara, and a boutique hotel in Bogotá called Hotel Zen-sual. People have asked us, why "Casa In The Air"? Of course it's because the apartment makes you feel like you're in the clouds, but it's also our Castle In the Air -- and there is a famous vallenato called the "Casa En El Aire" -- so it's a play on words between two languages.

If you're curious about us, Alejandro has worked as a lawyer, nonprofit administrator, and bodyworker. Mark has worked as a custom application developer, singer, actor, and writer.
