A lovely atmosphere in La Sagrera, a traditional neighborhood in...New

Single room with a desk and a shared bathroom with one other person in La Sagrera, 20 minutes from downtown. The apartment is on the 5th floor and has all-around exterior windows, offering panoramic views of the city. It’s a Brutalist-style building from the 1960s, and I’ve decorated it with objects and furniture from different eras, as well as contemporary artwork by artists from Latin America and Spain.

The apartment is located in La Sagrera, a typically Catalan neighborhood in Barcelona—very charming and not very touristy (for now). The neighborhood is characterized by architecture that blends late 19th-century and contemporary buildings, along with some truly special spots like Plaza Masadas.

In terms of transportation, we’re very centrally located but outside the areas overrun by tourists. The distances to various gay and tourist attractions are short: 20 minutes by bus from Marbella (the gay nudist beach), 20 minutes by metro to the city’s gay district, the Raval, museums like the MACBA and CCB, and shopping and tourist areas; 15 minutes by metro to the Sagrada Familia; and 15 minutes to the Gabriel García Márquez Library, named the best library in the world in 2025.
