Casa Inglesa is owned and managed by me, Neil Manning - and Jasper! The Casa is a newly refurbished guesthouse in the heart of Barra. It has 7 bedrooms, all with tv, air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans and mini bars. Oh and free Wi-Fi too!

Casa Inglesa has been renovated to a high standard with no expense spared to ensure your stay here is a comfortable and memorable one.

I am 54 years old and British. I lived and worked in London most of my life but when I was 44 I decided to change my life and go and live in Brazil. It took me a few years to work out what to do here in Salvador, Bahia but I ended up opening and running a Guest House, Pousada in Portuguese. I have callled the Pousada, Casa Inglesa Boutique Guest House and I have 8 rooms to rent. The Pousada opened on 1st January 2014. The House has been refurbished to a high standard with all rooms having a private bathroom, TV with Netflix, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mini bar and safe. I am really enjoying the new challenge of owning and running a business here in Brazil. It is not easy, but when has life ever meant to be easy. I am learning something new every day and I hope you will come and visit Jasper (my little West Highland Terrier) one day and experience the culture and delights of Salvador, Bahia.

Barra is the beach district of Salvador and the Casa is positioned very close to either the large beach at Farol da Barra or the small beach at Porto da Barra. As well as being known for its beaches, Barra is also well ******** the two main Carnaval routes in Salvador. Casa Inglesa is very well positioned for the Carnival activities which start at Farol da Barra, the famous lighthouse here on the penisula of Salvador.

Pelourinho, the historic centre of Salvador, is on the national historic register and named a world cultural centre by UNESCO. It is just a short 20 minute bus ride away or only 10 minutes in a taxi. Pelourinho is known for its authentic flavour of African culture in Brazil and you will find everything from samba parties, capoeira shows and restaurants to amazing historic churches and buildings.
