Domain of the Iron Gate

Beautiful accommodation in stunning countryside. Can highly recommend. Olivier is the perfect host and so helpful. The town is about a 30 minute walk down country lanes. Would love to return.

Gilles was such a good host and his place is amazing! Gilles is unobtrusive but available and he very kindly collected me from the airport. The location is stunning with views of the countryside, mountains and Carcassonne old city. The sauna was welcome on cooler days and the pool is a great spot to cool off. Inside the house are many spots to relax and read or just enjoy the 'objets d'art' on display. Breakfast was a feast. I could go in, come and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

What an amazing stay!!! Beautiful grounds, relaxing wonderful accommodations, delicious cuisine and hosts who are the best we've ever experienced!! If you are looking for a top-notch escape where you are welcomed like family, surrounded by graciousness in an atmosphere of total relaxation, you have found it here!! My husband and I have decided this will be an annual return destination. The best!!

This is a fantastic mansion re-created with great style, and with an amazing swimming pool. The short walk to the old section of the city is very easy, and the uphill coming back was not bad. Gilles made sure I had arrangements from and to the train station. Great hosts and home that I would recommend.

Beautifully located estate on a hilltop, overlooking Carcassonne. Ideally and peacefully situated in green surroundings. Very stylishly furnished 'castle residence', all the work of host Gilles. Beautiful swimming pool with a view of the city. You can walk to Carcassonne on foot. Odile's welcome, breakfast and meals were outstanding.

Gilles and Fahti are wonderful, thoughtful, kind hosts who did their best to make us feel comfortable. Odile, who takes care of the cooking (and the streching) is just as generous and funny as they are. Their house is amazing, restored with taste and, as soon as you walk throuthe gate, you will jump back in time. Nevertheless, this place will offer you the comfort and rest you need (as well as all the modern amenities one can expect). The house has a heart, and it is tough not to make friends there.

Domain of the Iron Gate is in one of the most beautiful areas in France. Gilles is an excellent host and very friendly. He picked me up and dropped me off at the train station. Everything was relaxing and enjoyable. One needs to be in relatively good shape to walk down and back up to/from the city - it's a beautiful walk!
