The Reveal

CozyRelaxing

We go out of our way to make your stay here more than just a place to sleep. We offer many activities and services to make your stay memorable. As many of our guests put it, "had we known we would have planned a longer stay, but will definitely be back," many saying they will be back with their friends. We hope you find us and want to plan a visit.

BONUS: If you stay 2 nights or more, Bill will prepare a delicious dinner for you on the weeknight of your choice. As much as we would like to, we cannot offer this on weekends.

This room has its own bathroom, a futon couch/bed, and a private exit to the backyard and our hot tub. Your stay includes a complimentary wine tasting and breakfast.

We advertise clothing optional but this is conditional. Most guys are interested in clothing optional for using the hot tub. We will even join you but only if you invite us. This cannot happen if someone is on the property for which clothing optional is offensive. Please check with the hosts before ditching the clothing.

JJ and I have been together now for 25+ years. Shortly after we met, we decided that one day we would have a bed and breakfast. In 2015 our dream came true and the B&B is a huge success, hosting over 1,000 guests a year. The main house is a traditional B&B (yes, including breakfast) with 3 rooms, 2 with a shared bath and 1 with a bath of its own. Amenities include a hot tub on the back patio. In a large barn on the property (2 acres) is also a two bedroom apartment with kitchen, laundry room, TV room, and a beautiful deck and hot tub. We call this the Casita. The Casita is also pet and kid friendly. Most of our guests at Union Road Guesthouse come from other booking sites, so when we get a Mister&b booking, Bill and JJ go out of their way for the rare gay guest(s). Some have become long-term friends. We even have a better rate on Mr B&B because we are city boys who moved to the rural area and want to attract more gay guests. We offer clothing optional because most gay guests want this option for the hot tub. This listing is a clothing optional property only when there are no guests from other platforms in the main house. Check with the host before you book. Obviously, we have no rules covering clothing optional in the Casita We welcome groups, so please let us know if you and your friends want to book the entire property. We can even work out food, wine tours, and events at nominal additional costs.

Nearby Attractions

This area is known for it's wineries and wine-tasting. In fact JJ is an Uber Wine driver (something unique to this region). We are located 8 miles from downtown Paso Robles (a very quaint town center), 6.5 miles east of Vina Robles Winery and Amphitheater, 1 mile west of Tobin James Winery, and 4 miles from Sensario. With wine regions come outstanding restaurants featuring outstanding chefs from all over the country. We would be happy to send a document with our recommendations. We are less than an hour from Hearst Castle. Pismo Beach is less than an hour away.

Our neighborhood is quiet with wonderful views. The drive to the residence is one of the outstanding features, taking our visitors through undulating hills of Oak Trees and Grapevines. Nights are quiet enough to insure a wonderful night's sleep and sitting outside before bed is encouraged as the sky is crazy with stars (fire pit for the colder evenings).

HOUSE RULES FOR MRB&B GUESTS *Please ensure that you have indicated the correct number of guests. This number must be accurate for liability purposes and because we do charge for additional guests. Our rates are based on single occupancy, as we realized some time ago that a rate based on two guests was unfair to the single guests. *We ARE pet lovers, but we also have severe allergies, so we have no indoor pets and do not allow pets in the house *We offer breakfast each morning. You must reserve your 1⁄2 hour time in the dining room. To sign up for your time, write your name next to the starting time of the 1⁄2 hour you would like on the chalkboard located to the right of the entrance to the dining room and the left of the fireplace. The time slots begin at 7:30 a.m., and the last slot is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. If you will be arriving after 10 p.m., please message us to reserve your name in the desired available slot (if one is available). You may also use the dining room at any time for meals you have brought with you, or leftovers, snacks, coffee, tea, or water. There is a microwave for guest use in the dining room to the left of the standalone buffet. *Smoking must take place outside in the backyard only. The ashtray is located to the right of the refrigerator on the back porch. The ashtray has a top that extends from the unit. You may use this in the backyard, but please return it after each use. *Lit candles are prohibited. *Out of respect for guests and hosts who want to get a good night’s sleep, everything will shut down at 10 pm and everyone is asked to not speak above a whisper until 7:30 a.m. the next morning. This does not mean guests cannot check in after 10 p.m. This also does not mean that guests may not come and go as they please throughout the night. We only ask that you come and go quietly. We, the hosts, promise to observe this as well. When 10 p.m. arrives and everything shuts down, we retreat to our room on the other side of the house. *Clothing optional only applies when other guests do not find it offensive, and obviously, if you are our only guest(s). Please check with the hosts before you ditch the clothing. Most requests for clothing-optional are for the hot tub. Additionally, please place a towel on any furniture, both inside and outside. Please wear a robe or clothing for breakfast. Please also be thoughtful and respectful of other guests' parameters. *Our insurance company DOES NOT allow for guests to use our kitchen or BBQ to prepare and/or cook food. This is non-negotiable. A microwave is available in the dining room for all guests to use (just to the left of the stand-alone buffet). Please do not use either of the microwaves in the kitchen. Feel free to use the dishes and flatware in the dining room. *Please read about our hot tub and the house rules in the manual left on your bed. Please note that if you are our only guest, the nudity restrictions do not apply.

I stayed here while working long hours, so I didn't use the room or house much, but the place is as described. Bill and JJ are wonderful hosts. I'll be staying here again.

Union Road Guest House is exactly as it is described. The home is welcoming as are the guests. The bed in the Gold Master Suite is great and the breakfast in the morning is very special.

Awesome! Used the guesthouse (Gold Room) as a home base for doing some off-roading in the Los Padres Natl Forest. Next time we book this place (and there WILL be a next time), we will explore some of the many wineries. The bed mattress is amazing. The hot tub was perfect after a long day. The wine and company of Bill and JJ was fun and entertaining. Breakfast was lovely.

This is our third year staying with Bill and JJ. They continue to impeccably maintain the property and are definitely great hosts. They are working very hard to deal with COVID related concerns and wear masks when in the common areas with other guests, as well as having sign up times for breakfast to keep each group of travelers separated. The waffles are amazing of course! We look forward to staying again next year!
