Don’t miss the Abbey Gatehouse and grounds, the Cathedral and spend a few hours browsing the independent shops in the historic town centre. Further afield visit historic Lavenham with its Guildhall(National Trust) and house featured in Harry Potter. There are two National Trust houses within 10 miles plus lots of historic churches and unspoilt countryside. University town Cambridge is around half an hours drive with Newmarket, famous for horse racing even closer. The Suffolk coast is around an hour away.
