Perfect Virginia Getaway for Private Relaxing Time

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. First of all, the property itself was gorgeous. The guest suite had its own private bathroom and a private separate TV room. There was a hot tub and porch as well which I used while I was there. The host John is an extremely friendly, kind, and gracious host. He made breakfast the day we left, which we ate in his beautiful dining room. John was very pleasant to speak with. Though I had not planned on it, I also booked a massage with John. It was thoroughly relaxing, calming, and exactly what I needed. I came out feeling refreshed and in a great mood. I cannot speak on the town that much, as I did not have enough time to explore the area, but this home was a very helpful rest stop on my drive from Massachusetts to Georgia If I ever pass through this area again, I will not hesitate to stay here again. I've stayed at Charles Bass House 4 times. Beautiful home. Great place for me to remain over night on my way to another destination. The host, John, is a wonderful man, kind and generous. He's the best part of staying there. Pretty good cook, too. Thanks, John. I hope to see you next time through.

I highly recommend the Charles Bass House B&B. John was an amazing host. He is a laid back gentlemen, who went out of his way to make my stay pleasant and enjoyable. He served a wonderful breakfast He even allows you to adjust the house thermostat to your liking. The house is a charming grand Victorian. My suite was extremely spacious with an attached bath and large sitting room with TV. Be sure to enjoy the soothing hot tub in the Garden Room!

This second visit was on the way back to my home. Ditto what I said before. This time, John made us a simple supper in his kitchen so I didn't have to figure out where to go. Nice wine to go with it. John at Charles Bass House is an interesting, caring and genuinely good person. The house and its music are fantastic. South Boston is a nice town to explore, especially the history museum, but I think it's fair to say I spent more time at Charles Bass House than I did exploring the town. What a beautiful home ! The accommodations were perfect ! Very comfortable bed. John is a charming host and he really makes you feel welcome and at home. A soak in the hot tub followed by some reading on the deck and sun room were the perfect way to spend an evening. Breakfast was delicious. It was interesting chatting and sharing stories with John. I'll be back ! South Boston little downtown is cute. Thanks again John!
