About the Place

This first floor unit (requires five stairs to access) is located in the quiet Fernwood neighborhood. The apartment is comfortable and cozy, with lots of natural woodwork and a retro plastic-tiled kitchen. During warmer months there are comfy chairs in the front and back yard gardens for morning coffee or afternoon happy hour.

The house is close to the airport and Amtrak stops, about a $20 rideshare. It's one short block to the 15 bus stop, providing direct and frequent access to downtown, the gay bars and other nightlife, including the Summerfest grounds (home to Pridefest). There are parks and biergartens nearby as well. I consider the spot excellent for biking with the off-road Oak Leaf trail nearby and many bike lanes to get around, though it is an urban biking environment.

The house has central air conditioning and I provide coffee, tea and just about everything you'd need to cook a good Wisconsin meal. Maybe we'll even grill some brats in the backyard together???

Nearby Attractions

There are several cute restaurants and bars in walking distance (plus a Walgreens). The South Shore Terrace has a lakeside beer garden that is lovely in the summer, and Humboldt Park also has a beer garden and Tuesday night Chill on the Hill free concert series.

The more active heart of Bayview is a 20-30 minute walk or short ride away and downtown's gay bars, nightlife, museums and cultural attractions is easily accessible by bike (30-40 minutes), bus (15-20 minutes, no transfers!), car and rideshare (10-minute ride).

The airport is also a 10-minute drive away.

We are in an excellent spot right in the middle, with easy access to everything, and it's quiet at night. :-)
