Welcome to my home.
I have been hosting guests in my apartment for nearly twenty years, welcoming countless happy visitors and building many new friendships along the way. All guests are warmly welcome here—regardless of who you are, who you love, or how you identify. I am proud to offer a home that is LGBTQ+ friendly, respectful, and inclusive. Venice has always been a city that embraces diversity, and I am happy to share that same spirit with my guests.
I moved to Venice about 25 years ago to study art history at Ca’ Foscari University and fell in love with the city almost immediately—enough to happily decide to stay in this unique archipelago for good.
The bed and breakfast is located in Cannaregio, a lively and authentic neighborhood offering a genuine taste of Venetian life—away from the busiest tourist routes, yet full of charm, character, and hidden artistic gems.
The apartment is just a five-minute walk from the train station (Venezia Santa Lucia), about 15–20 minutes from St. Mark’s Square, and very close to the historic Jewish Ghetto. It’s the perfect base for exploring Venice on foot or by boat, and for visiting the beautiful islands of Murano, Burano, and Torcello.
The apartment is on the top floor of a 16th-century building (please note there is no elevator—three flights of comfortable stairs), with a stunning view over the rooftops of Venice.
The guest bedroom is spacious and bright, with a private terrace, air conditioning, and a radio. The bathroom is private, en suite, and reserved exclusively for guests. It’s a relaxed and laid-back home—there’s no curfew, and you’re welcome to enjoy the terrace at your own pace, including smoking if you prefer.
The service includes a continental breakfast, bed and bath linens, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. I take special care in preparing breakfast: bread, butter, marmalade, fruit juice, yogurt, pastries, cereal, and more. In warmer months, breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace; in winter, in the kitchen.
Guests have access to the apartment, including the kitchen and both terraces, with the exception of my private room.
I enjoy spending time with my guests whenever possible. At check-in, I usually offer a friendly introduction to the city, with tips on what to see and how to make the most of Venice. During breakfast, I’m always happy to help you plan your day or suggest places you might not easily find on your own—this is a genuinely welcoming home, and I want every guest to feel completely comfortable, respected, and at ease here.
Please note that during the week I work from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For arrivals during those hours, self-check-in can easily be arranged using a secure key box. I kindly ask guests to send their documents in advance to complete pre-check-in and ensure a smooth arrival.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Venice’s tourist tax (introduced August 24, 2011) is not included in the room rate and must be paid in ******** upon arrival. It applies for a maximum of 5 consecutive nights.

I was born in Verona but ended up here in Venice about 20 years ago, supposedly to study Art History at the university — though I suspect the real reason was fate.
Can't deny I got kinda stuck on this enchanting island, and I still love it to bits. Something tells me you might too, once you're here.
I speak pretty good English, some Spanish, a bit of French, and, of course, Italian — enough languages to charm my way through most situations.
Been hosting since 2004 and met tons of awesome folks along the way. Huge thanks for all those great times! I'm always excited to meet new guests, and if you're up for it, we can share a glass of wine, a chat, and maybe a sunset on the terrace — Venice does have a way of making everything feel a little more romantic.
I'm also happy to throw out some cool suggestions for places and things to do, so your visit to the city is unforgettable.

Cannaregio is one of Venice's most authentic and lively neighborhoods, offering a welcome respite from the city's typical tourist crowds. As you wander through its narrow calli and picturesque canals, you'll experience a genuine Venetian atmosphere, with locals going about their daily lives all around you. Its historic charm comes with real practical advantages: Cannaregio offers easy access to both the airport and the train station, as well as direct boat lines connecting to the enchanting islands of Murano, Burano, and Torcello. As you explore the neighborhood, you’ll find a delightful mix of residential homes, small shops, and inviting cafés, along with restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, and pastry shops that make Cannaregio a lively, self-sufficient place to stay. Along the Fondamenta della Misericordia, just a short walk from the apartment, a row of bars and restaurants lines the canal, offering excellent options for an evening out. Cannaregio captures the true rhythm of Venetian life, making it the ideal choice for anyone seeking an authentic, less crowded way to explore this unique city—all while staying close to major transportation links. Getting Around The neighborhood is served by two main vaporetto stops, both within easy walking distance: about 10 minutes from the train station, or 15 minutes from Piazzale Roma.
Guglie stop: direct Alilaguna shuttle to the airport, plus routes to the Lido (lines 5.1 and 5.2) and Murano (line 4.2). Fondamente Nove, the departure point for Torcello and Burano (line 12), is also nearby. San Marcuola stop, on the Grand Canal: lines 1, 2, and N (night line), for an easy, scenic ride to the city’s main sights.

Feel right at home: there are no strict rules or curfew, so you can enjoy complete independence during your stay. With over 20 years of experience as a host, I’m always excited to meet new people and share a bit of Venice with my guests. If you smoke, you’re welcome to use the private terrace outside your room. If you prefer a “clothing-optional” approach, that’s perfectly fine—I have no problem with it. The only rule is to be considerate of our neighbors on the outdoor terrace. TOURIST TAX This tourist tax must be paid upon arrival by all guests and applies to stays of up to 5 consecutive nights. This was a wonderful introduction to Venice for our first visit. Perfect location in Cannaregio, centrally located to all of Venice's beautiful sights and delicious restaurants. Antonio is such a gracious and kind host and his home is classic old world Italy. A lovely terrace also to relax and enjoy wine and cheese from nearby Teatro market! The three flights of stairs may make you think twice about packing two many suitcases! Guglie Vaporetto stop about four minutes away! We highly recommend.

Cannot say enough about what a great experience I had with Antonio as a host and the really amazing place that he has to offer. Dream host in terms of communication and genuine authenticity. It's not always easy to open your home to the world but he does so graciously, warmly, and with a kindness that stands out in my experience. The apartment is exactly what you see advertised and was immaculate. Truly one of the best experiences overall I've had in all my travels. Highly recommend and will definitely come back!

I had a marvellous weekend in Venice, staying in Antonio's lovely apartment. Extremely comfortable and spacious room, very clean private bathroom - and I enjoyed morning tea on the balcony taking in the sunshine and the sound of bells. A great location, 12 minutes walk from the station. I especially enjoyed exploring Cannaregio. Antonio is an excellent host, charming and helpful. Very happy to give a wholehearted recommendation.

Antonio is a very charming man and an outstandingly cheerful host. He was very flexible with check-in issues allowing me to bring my bags at 8 a.m. on the weekend and welcomed me with coffee, a sunny smile and tips to have the very first acquaintance with Venice. The apartment combines modern comfort with original Venetian home styles. The bed was especially comfortable - my tired back was very happy. Antonio is very flexible and tactful as the host. I am looking forward to my future stays at Antonio's.
