Milan Gay Pride usually takes place in the last week of June. The Italian fashion capital hosts a week of LGBT-friendly events, with the streets around via Lazzaretto, via Lecco, via Castaldi, and largo Bellintani being transformed into the Pride Square. The aim of Pride Square is not only to provide a fun place to mingle during the week-long celebrations, but to also create a space that promotes integration and dialogue within the local community.
Milan Pride has previously featured 60 events over nine days with 200,000 people watching the Milan Gay Pride Parade and 30,000 visitors to Pride Square.
