quiet country retreat

George is a generous host and makes you feel welcome immediately. I had a very enjoyable stay with him and John, taking in the scenic property from the porch and pool. We had plenty of opportunity to chat lazing about or over the yummy meals George prepared. If you are in southwestern Vermont I would highly recommend a stay with George.

There is so much to do here and in the surrounding area, such as biking, swimming, and hiking, and complete privacy. The house is huge, with a pool table and den, and outdoors there is an in ground pool and tons of trails. George and John know the area better than anyone, as they were both local businessmen and involved in hospitality, tourism, and historic research and preservation. You could not ask for more knowledgeable and generous hosts. I will be visiting again soon.

A true hidden gem in Bennington, Vermont! George is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. You arrive as strangers, but you will leave as family. This charming, comfortable home feels completely secluded from the outside world (On 50 acres, surrounded by trees, with an amazing view of a beautiful lake and mountains), but it is only a five minute drive from downtown Bennington, and less than two minutes from The Pubyk House (one of the best steak houses you can imagine) The living quarters are complete with a swimming pool, pool table, dart board, Foosball table, and tanning bed. There is a gorgeous living room, with an enormous stone fireplace that George keeps stoked with a roaring fire. He is also an amazing cook that's serves downhome country cooking. Believe me, you will not go away hungry. If you need directions or suggestions of what to do, George is a well of knowledge. Don't pass up this chance for a vacation you won't forget!
