The chateau dates back to for sure 12th century for a chapel from 1150, kitchen and 1st floor bedroom 13/14C , unique pigeon cot from 1539. We have the unique Chambre du Roi from 1647 with the amazing woodworks and two original portraits of King Louis XIV The sun king and his Queer brother Philippe Duke d’Orleans ‘monsieur’.

Welcome to. Chateau du Fresne. Our small heaven in the north of the Loire. Close to Normandie... 1 hours by train from Paris to Laval. 1 hours from the beach/Mont St Michel. One of the hidden gems of France. A castle with remains of 12th century, now pre Revolution layout with a special feature Chambre du Roi with portraits from 1658 of Louis XIV Roi du Soleil and his Queer Brother Philippe Duc D’Orleans. We have 3 guest rooms with in each room place for 2/3 persons. The whole house can house up to 25 persons for special locations

An enchanting stay, charming, restful and refined. Gijs and Angelo take great care of their guests. The castle is captivating and full of stories.
