Private bedroom in central located Rotterdam penthouse with wellness facilities.
The apartment is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Rotterdam, Scheepvaartkwartier, in the building the Caland Residence. This is a monument from 1852 and used to be a wine warehouse.
You can book a private bedroom at our home. All other areas in our penthouse apartment are shared with the hosts, like the bathroom, kitchen, living room and rooftop terraces.
You will enter the apartment on the 4th floor. On this floor you will find the living room with working fireplace with open kitchen where we serve you the breakfast. You will also find the big shared bathroom with bath, rain shower and sauna (access is via our bedroom). You will also find a separate toilet on this floor.
In the living room you will find stairs to the 5th floor where the guestroom is located under the roof. The guestroom is small and has a double bed, but you will have plenty of space on the rest of the floor. Here you will also find a minibar and free coffee (Nespresso) and tea facilities. On this floor you will also find a dedicated workspace and separate seating area and the access to the rooftops. On the lower rooftop you will have full privacy and you will be protected from the wind. This is also where the heated jacuzzi (365 days a year) is located. From this terrace you can also go up to the next terrace where you have an amazing view over the city of Rotterdam and you can see the Erasmusbridge, Euromast and the river Maas.
In the morning we serve you a full breakfast which is included in the price. We try to cater for any specific dietary requirements or preferences. In the evening we can also serve a 4 course dinner with South African wines for 20 Euro per person (please let us know in advance).
After a day of sightseeing in Rotterdam, you are more than welcome to use the sauna in the bathroom and the jacuzzi on the rooftop to relax.
We will be more than happy to help you plan your visit to Rotterdam or The Netherlands in general.
We are very flexible with checkin and checkout times during the weekend, but as we are both working , we need to plan in advance for weekdays.

The apartment is located in the beautiful Scheepvaartkwartier near the little harbor Veerhaven. It's located next to The Park which is great for running. The river Maas is one block away from our place and is it's very near to Erasmusbrug. The museums are all very near including the amazing Depot from Boymans van Beuningen which offers an amazing reflection of the city skyline in its outside mirroirs. The shopping area of Rotterdam is about 15 minutes walk away.
Bob is chairman of the Rotterdam LGBTQ+ sportclub Ketelbinkie, you join them for a run?
Ferry is a gaybar at walking distance, you can for there for a drink, quick meal or to party at night.

We are flexible with check-in and check-out during the weekend, but as we are both working, please pre-arrange this for the weekdays. Normal check-in from 14.00 and check-out before 12.00. No visitors allowed. Jacuzzi is always heated, sauna we can preheat for you when you want to use it. Please let us know 20 minutes in advance. Please provide us with any dietary requirements, breakfast is included in your rate. Dinner is available on request only, we love to cook, 17,50 per person for a 4 course dinner including wine and coffee.

This place is special. Situated in a beautiful historic building just moments from the River Maas, it is ideally located for morning walks along the river and is also within very close proximity to metro lines and water buses as well as being very near proximity to excellent restaurants; you could hardly be better positioned. Martijn and Bob are unparalleled hosts, creating a wonderfully relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in their exquisitely decorated apartment. Their knowledge of the area and things to see and do is vast and expert. It was a real pleasure to have the use of their sauna and jacuzzi — the perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. I also had the pleasure of enjoying an exquisitely prepared dinner with Martijn and Bob, and the breakfasts were an absolute treat to the start the day. If you find yourself in Rotterdam, this place is truly a must. Huge thanks to Martijn and Bob.

This place is incredible, and the hosts are equally wonderful! The way they maintain the property and the breakfast they provide is fantastic. Overall, it was a great place to come and relax. I wish I had more time to enjoy the hot tub and sauna, but for a short trip, this place was absolutely perfect.

I visited this location with a friend of mine and it was really fun. The hosts are very nice and considerate. And the apartment is amazing, especially the view from the top. Absolutely a must.

Martijn and Bob were wonderful hosts! They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and their house is absolutely beautiful. We also had some delicious food during our stay! Everything was perfect, and we felt very comfortable from the moment we arrived. Highly recommended, and we would absolutely love to come back! 😊

It was the second time I was staying with Martijn and Bob and although it has been a while it felt as being yesterday. The penthouse is very nice and comfortable and the breakfast is very good. They created a very nice place which is ideal to relax after a visit to the city. Thank you guys for your hospitality!

Great value, location and nice breakfast with lots of options. Martijn and Bob have a beautiful apartment with a very nice outdoor rooftop and spa. They were very welcoming, friendly, communicative and accomodating, allowing us to leave our bags on the last day before our flight. Would recommend and be happy to stay again. Whilst the room is small, it met our needs, and whilst there is a separate bathroom, the only shower is in the ensuite of the hosts bedroom which may be an issue for some.

Martijn and Bob are such amazing hosts! So generous with their time and effort (breakfast was amazing). My biggest regret is not being able to stay longer! From the interior (looks better than photos), to the facilities e.g., jacuzzi, sauna, roof top spot - It's really worth it. The only possible downside is that the toilet is connected to their room therefore may be tricky if you are a frequent visitor in the middle of the night. But I'm sure they'll be happy to assist if it's needed.

Martijn & Bob are fantastic hosts with fabulous place. Open, friendly, helpful and kind. The breakfast was a feast for the eyes and mouth and I had a fantastic dinner with them. The whirlpool is exactly what one needs after a day of exploring. And the the sauna is the cherry on top before cozying up in bed. Anytime again and highly recommend
