Hotel Goldene Steig

In the heart of Kempten's historic old town, right by the landmark staircase and just a few steps from the town-hall square, Hotel Goldene Steig combines Allgäu coziness with modern design. Its 14 individually designed rooms are quiet yet central.

Natural materials, clean lines and warm earthy tones give each of our 14 rooms its own welcoming character. All rooms feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a self-service mini-bar and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are nonsmoking and allergy-friendly.

Check-in is convenient and fully digital: guests receive their room key directly on their smartphone or create it on site at the check-in kiosk by the entrance — ideal even for late arrivals. Reception is staffed daily from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and we are also reachable by phone until 10:00 p.m.

Breakfast is served at our partner "Pano – Bread & Coffee", just 164 feet away (Fischersteige 8): fresh bread and great coffee — continental, vegetarian, vegan and also available to take away. Open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. and Sunday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Restaurants, cafés and the sights of the old town are all within walking distance. Located directly on the Iller and Allgäu cycle paths, the hotel is an ideal starting point for cycling trips, with secure bicycle storage available nearby.

Parking is available within walking distance: the "Pfeilergraben" car park (approx. 2 minutes on foot) and the parking garage on Kronenstraße / at the town hall (approx. 2–3 minutes on foot); a discounted exit ticket is available at reception.
