The house was immaculately clean, the bed mattess was comfortable, and I really appreciated all the thoughtful details such as the basket of toiletries and lotions in the bedroom. I also liked the backyard deck with a pretty view. Joe was pleasant, easy to communicate with and made sure I had everything I needed.
Very highly recommended!"

The building is absolutely charming, and Chris has tastefully decorated both the bedroom and common spaces. I found the bedroom very comfortable, with a great bed and nice amenities for reading or working.
Chris is an excellent host! I enjoyed chatting with him a few times over my stay, and he was very helpful in getting returned to me an item I had forgotten.
I recommend this location, and I would happily stay here again!"

The nightly shows in their lounge we entertaining and convenient since they were on property. We did have problems with our AC but staff quickly moved us to a new room. We'll definitely be back"

Eric·4·Jun. 2026· "The Gifford House is in the perfect location. The rooms are small but well appointed. The staff was really lovely. The check in was confusing. I was texted one room number, but someone else was in that room, and they gave me another one. Then someone else tried to get into my room had the same problem. The place is very noisy and the floors/ceilings are thin. There were construction and cleaning crews starting early. Then early afternoon there were sound checks and music thumping below. Early evening, the theater had performances that I could hear most of from my room. That transitioned about 8:30 to loud piano bar music on the ground floor with added bass thumping from the basement until 1:00 a.m. It would be fine if you are a heavy sleeper. I usually take a quick disco nap before tea and then after tea to stay out later. That was very challenging in this space. If you just need a place to sleep and shower in a great location, this is a good fit."
