Gay Local Tips in New York

Kiss me hard before you go

New York is one of those places you're never done exploring! Check out Matt and Michael's tips to enjoy the city that never sleeps. They're Fabul'hosts in NYC for misterb&b and they are both very immersed in the food, art and nightlife scene. They pride themselves on keeping on top of the best places to go so nobody can be a better host than these two. Explore New York City, experience your pride.

How gay-friendly is your city? What’s gay life like there?

Extremely gay friendly! New York City is one of the safest places for gay/queer people to visit because our culture has largely impacted and contributed to the amazing mecca that New York has always been and always will be.

What are the best gay events that take place in your city each year?

Gay Pride is epic, of course and this year even more since we’ll be hosting World Pride. Gay events? In New York City? Every. Single. Night. If you want to experience the best whenever - wherever truly is the best deal! Just grab your leather jacket, coat or gold high-top pants and get ready to have the time of your life.

We only have 48 hours in your city. What can’t we miss?

Dancing at the Standard Hotel rooftop, dining in the East Village, walking the Brooklyn Bridge, taking the New York Harbor ferry around, seeing a Broadway show, checking out Bergdorf's and Barneys in Midtown. The list goes on and on in this amazing metropolis!

A gay place for brunch on weekends?

Horchata is my personal favourite. They’re hosting “Chili Out” Over Our Boozy Brunch. It’s only $35 per person, and it includes delicacies such as : Guacamole clásico, house-made corn tortilla chips over a selection of brunch entrées. Oh and you get two hours of unlimited sangria, mimosas, bloodies or Mexican beers on tap! The music is on point and you are never disappointed with how often they tend to your cup! Need any other reason?

Best gay place and day for a cheap beer or happy hour?

On a Sunday afternoon have your tea dance moment at The Rusty Knot in the West Village, that’s most definitely the place to be to get delicious drinks before a quiet dinner or more partying. On a regular weekday you can get your happy hour everywhere, Phoenix, Stonewall Inn, Club Cumming, Boiler Room, The Cock, Metropolitan, Macri Park, Barage, Posh, Flaming Saddles, The Ritz, the list goes on and on for booze and boys…

We’re ready to party! What are the best gay clubs?

The Phoenix - on Friday packed, but they play the BOPS. Metropolitan is great because they have so much space, it provides a different Brooklyn crowd and has mini stages to dance on. Industry is great and is my favorite place to perform -- I mean -- dance because of all of the spaces and stages they have. I am a musician, so I approve of the music played at all places listed above.

What are the best alternative gay bars and clubs where you live?

Club Cumming, The Phoenix, Boiler Room, The Cock... all of the bars in East Village are quite alternative.

Can you share a secret or little-known place to visit in your city?

If I told you, you'd have to kiss me ; )

Any beaches, parks or best other places to chill-out?

Rockaway is far away, but worth it, bae. Go down to Jersey Shore (yes, the Jersey Shore) is Asbury Park and Fire Island is the gayest place to venture to!

Where you can we get the best view of NYC?

Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, FReedom Tower and any high-rise in Jersey/Brooklyn overlooking the city. ●
