🛍 Shopping A short walk takes you to Pátio Higienópolis, a shopping mall with top Brazilian and international brands. For fresh local produce and street food, don’t miss the Santa Cecília farmers' market (Largo Santa Cecilia x Rua Sebastiao Pereira) on Saturday mornings or the Higienopolis one on Thursday mornings (Rua Martim Francisco x Av Higienopolis). Nearby grocery store (Sacolao Higienopolis) has excellent produce and bakery. Stores tailored for gay men are also nearby in the Arouche and Frei Caneca areas.

🌈 LGBTQ+ Scene The apartment is around the corner from Hotel Chilli, the largest sauna in Latin America. The neighborhood has a variety of gay (for example: Dedalos, Wolf Bar, Blue Bar, Zig) and Lesbian (Das, Bandeira Bandeira) bars. Another gay district, Frei Caneca, is also walking distance.

🍽 Food & Drink • Paradiso Casa&Comida: Quirky Asian fusion restaurant. • Cangote Sorvetes: Unique ice creams with flavors from Northeastern Brazil. • Veridiana Pizzaria: São Paulo is known for pizza—this is my favorite in the neighborhood. Romantic and traditional setting. Cora Restaurante: Rooftop restaurant serving tapas-style plates with fresh ingredients. • Fôrno: Best pastrami dishes in SP and lots of yummy food options. • Z Deli (Rua Bento Freiras): Amazing NYC-style brunch with outdoor seating (weekends only). • Rinconcito Peruano: Yummy, authentic Peruvian food. • A Casa do Porco Bar: One of the world’s best restaurants. Pork-focused fine dining, but with vegetarian options too. • Churrascaria Oriental Cho Sun Gal Bi: My favorite Korean BBQ in Bom Retiro (SP’s Koreatown). • Little Saigon Culinária Vietnamita: Good, authentic Vietnamese food. • Tanka Restaurante: All-you-can-eat Pan-Asian, Japanese, and Japanese-Brazilian food. • Sotero Cozinha Original: Affordable, delicious Bahian food in a cute setting.

🍷 Bars & Breweries • Cervejaria Dogma: Local brewery next door with really good beer. • Elevado Bar: Nice neighborhood wine bar with a great selection. • Aconchegante Bar: Very lively spot with good drinks.

Try the pão de queijo with kimchi. • Oui com Uai Quituteria e Café: Cozy coffee shop with amazing baked goods. • KEZ Padaria: Great bagel spot. • Aresta Café: Around the corner, cozy place to study or work. Good coffee, matcha, and Japanese eats.
