The Reveal

Near LGBTQ+ SceneCozyInsta-WorthyRelaxingCentral location

The house is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath updated circa 1928 bungalow in the cultural heart of the city - the Highlands. Guests will enjoy a full run of the house for the exception of my private space which includes the second floor master suite and the lower level, an area that includes my massage studio, where I see clients Tuesdays through most Saturdays. I ask that you be respectful and treat my home as you would your own. Within a few block walking distance, you'll find a great selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. As mentioned, I am a licensed massage therapist, and do offer special discounts for guests who book and stay at my place! You're also welcome to relax and enjoy a glass of wine or your favorite beverage and listen to the waterfall in the backyard.

While I don't object to clothing optional, this is COMPLETELY dependent on time of day, as my clients come and go through my front door.

I have security camera(s) outside of my place

World traveler (when I can afford it!), foodie and love to host and explore! I'm low key, respectful, and enjoy stimulating conversation, often with a glass of wine or a good bourbon. I am a LMT and opened my own practice in 2018, after a lengthy career in fundraising (American Cancer Society, University of Louisville and American Heart Association) and prior to that in the corporate world, most notably in marketing/communications and HR roles. I’ve been called a natural healer by many and seem to have found my true calling in body work. In my massage practice, I offer traditional Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and Thai mat massages as well as Reiki. I offer a discount for guests who book a session and are staying with me but book early - my massage schedule is often full 6+ weeks in advance.

Host recommendations

There is room in front of each house for two cars, so if you are arriving by car, be sure to pull up or back enough for someone to park behind or in front of you without blocking a driveway. Shoes must be removed at the door (protects my hardwood floors), and take your shoes with you to your bedroom. Do not leave them piled next to the front door, as they create a tripping hazard. Your name will be on a placard on your bedroom door so you'll know which bedroom is yours. Take a moment to read important information on the placard. No non-paying guests without prior approval. NO SMOKING. You're more than welcome to step out on the front porch or back deck to smoke, but do not leave cigarette butts in my landscaping - kindly flush them down the toilet. I have two very social and generally well behaved cats, named MooMoo and BooBoo, so if you have an allergy, please take note. Please keep your bedroom door closed to discourage the cats from taking up residence on the guest beds. Guests may have unlimited use of my wi-fi and full run of the house, including the back deck when the weather is appropriate. I hang a sign on the entrance to the kitchen if I have a client in my lower level massage studio (accessed via a stairwell through the kitchen). If the sign is up, PLEASE be extra quiet while in the kitchen and keep any conversation to a minimum as sounds from the kitchen are clearly audible in the studio. Note the lower level and second floor of the house are private and guests are not allowed without prior approval. NO EATING IN THE BEDROOM. Consuming light snacks (e.g. nuts, chips, etc) in the bedroom is fine, but meals of any kind (pizza, carry-out) must be eaten at the dining room table, where you need to use a place mat. My dining room table is made of hand-hammered copper and has a waxed top coat that will easily melt if a hot plate or dish is placed directly on it. Also, coasters MUST be used for any beverage container (bottle water, drinking glass, etc) taken into the bedroom. My furniture is REAL WOOD and you will be responsible for any permanent water marks left on the furniture. Sorry to be so curt about this, but guests have not been kind to my furniture. Thanks for your understanding. PLEASE be mindful of how you open and close doors. This seems like a simple thing to ask, but people often have ZERO self-awareness and simply push a bedroom or bathroom door closed, being unnecessarily loud and disrespectful of other guests who may be napping in the bedroom right across the hall. PLEASE be courteous and TURN DOOR KNOBS FULLY when opening and closing doors. Finally, I do allow use of my washer/dryer, for a $5 per load fee (covers the cost of detergent, machine wear/tear, utilities, etc.). Thank you for adhering to what I believe should be common sense rules. Generally speaking, if you wouldn't do it in your house, why do it in mine? :)

Such a bautiful home - pictures do not do it justice - in a cute, safe neighborhood with a gorgeous back patio/yard and plenty of street parking. One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on! Thick, hotel quality bath towels and 2 very friendly kitties! (especially the dusty orange one!) PS Take advantage of the guest discount and get a massage...Michael uses a variety of techniques from deep tissue to reiki to reflexology to provide a truly amazing experience!

Michael was an exceptional host. He provided clear, easy-to-follow instructions for everything—from house rules to coffee and tea setup, as well as areas that were off-limits. The home itself was beautiful, and the backyard truly felt like a peaceful oasis. I especially loved the small flowing creek fountain; it had a gentle, babbling sound that made the space incredibly relaxing. The location was exactly as described—conveniently close to shops and restaurants. The bed was so comfortable I could hardly convince myself to get up the next morning. I also had the pleasure of sharing pizza, wine, and great conversation with Michael, who is genuinely warm and welcoming. I would absolutely stay here again.

Michael has a beautifully maintained home, within walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants in a great neighborhood in Louisville. He is a consummate host, the background and deck are a delightful "zen" hideaway space, the bedroom/bathroom facilities were spotless and very comfortable. The mattress on the bed was AMAZING! Highly recommended, and my new "go-to" place to stay whenever I visit Louisville in the future.

My first MisterB&B. Great location. Hotel quality bed and hotel quality sheets and pillows. Short drive to the gay bars. Short walk to an Irish pub. If you are looking for a tranquil escape, a place to enjoy a wine in a shaded garden ...this is the place. If you are looking for a place to be rowdy....this is not it.

If a house can reflect the soul of its owner — and certainly it can — then this house reflects a soul so luminous that just being around it on a daily basis qualifies as inspiring. Every detail and every touch in the house feels so exquisitely conceived and so thoughtfully hospitable. Staying there feels like some sort of life improvement, not least because of the excellent company of the host. It's a brilliant house and experience crafted by a brilliant soul.

I wish I could have spent more time here! Great communication from Michael and little notes around the house helped. Easy drive to main areas of Louisville.

Everything was just as described and pretty easy to navigate. I was pretty much worn out from my trip, so I didn't do much interacting but the bed was comfortable. Would stay again.
