Espacio Clothing Optional in Puerto Vallarta - Shared Experience

I booked this place just a few days ahead of my trip. Right after the booking was done, Mario started chatting with me on ********. He first sent me a screenshot of the price, in Peso, marked on his account and asked me the price I had paid for the reservation as if he did not trust the price marked on the site. I told him the total amount I paid for the entire stay since I believe price is transparent and that Misterbandb would not hide the price from the host. I got to the place at night; Mario let me in then I immediately went to bed as I was very tired. The following morning, Mario asked to see my photo ID, which I showed to him with no hezitation. Then he asked me to take a photo of my ID and send to him via ********. I declined taking the photo of my ID card and having him keep it in his phone. He then said that I could not stay at his place, that I had to find somewhere else to go, that he would inform Misterbandb for them to cancel my reservation. He told me that he couldn't formally cancel the reservation from his end, but that he sent email to Misterbandb for them to cancel the reservation and refund me. I trusted him. I booked a different place, then I left. After I returned home, I realized that my reservation with Mario never was cancelled and the refund did not happen. I contacted Mrbandb and explained the situation so to ask for the refund for the reservation that I did not use. Mrbandb told me that the email Mario sent to them did not mention any details about the reservation, and that they sent him an email asking him information about the reservation in question, but they did not hear from him at all, and that they couldn't be sure of which reservation to cancel, and without that information, they ended up releasing the reservation total amount to his account. I then tried to follow up with Mario. I called him and he didn't answer the phone; I sent him a ******** text and he didn't answer either; I left him a message in his inbox and he didn't answer at all. Verifying a guest identification is normal, but I find taking the photo of guest's photo ID and save it on your personal device beyond acceptable, especially that it is not even mentionned on the site as a standard way of guest ID verification. I basically lost my money I paid for the reservation at Mario's place, which himself agreed he was going to request for the cancellation and refund. This was very stressful experience and I wouldn't wish it to happen to anyone else. I hope that Mario will reconsider returning me the amount for the unused reservation and he promised when he ordered me to leave his place.
