Welcome to Chicory Ranch!

Hi, we're Todd & Sebs.

The Place:

Chicory Ranch is a collection of living and creative spaces situated amongst native plant and food gardens in Santa Rosa, California (approximately one hour north of San Francisco). The ranch gets its name from the blue-flowered chicory, which grows wild across the property.

Our home, which we call 'The Big House', has a spacious open floor plan living room, fully equipped kitchen, rare plants, vintage treasures, and lots of natural light. In the house, we have two bedrooms and an adjacent private bathroom available for short-term rental. Room #1 is 'The Gentleman's Quarters'. It faces east with an epic view of Taylor Mountain. It is furnished with a cozy queen-size bed. Room #2 is 'The Sun Room', which faces south and is furnished with stacking twin beds that can combine to make a king size bed. Directly across from both rooms is a private bathroom.

Our bedroom and bathroom are on the opposite side of the house from these guest rooms. While staying with us, guests are welcome to enjoy the kitchen, dining, laundry, and living areas. We share the home with our two sweet cats, Puss & Ruby.

The Location:

Chicory Ranch is located in southern Santa Rosa, California. The location offers the best of both town and country. To the east of the property there are sweeping views of grasslands and Taylor Mountain. To the west there is easy access to Highway 101. A five-minute drive to the north brings you to markets and downtown Santa Rosa. San Francisco is a short 40 miles to the south. We are a 20-minute drive to the Pacific Ocean. The redwoods and Napa Valley are easily accessible, as are other wine-country towns like Healdsburg, Sonoma, Guerneville, and Sebastopol. We're more than happy to recommend local destinations like farmers' markets, restaurants, hot springs, hikes, shops, bars, and excursions.

Your Hosts:

Sebastian & Todd are both California natives. Sebastian grew up in Santa Rosa and Todd is from the Central Coast of California. Between the two of us we've lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Mendocino, New York City, Berlin, and traveled extensively. If you're touring around California, or the US, we're happy to give recommendations. Sebastian is a green thumb; he builds landscapes and gardens. Todd's background is in the arts; he manages a performing arts and exhibition venue. Together we enjoy cooking, entertaining, working on design & art projects, and making our house a home.
