Welcome to Römer Haus. A creative's den in the heart of West Hollywood. Vintage furniture, towers of books, more plants than I can count, art on every wall, and a resident dog who's better company than most. Eclectic, warm, lived-in, and a little seductive after dark. If you like character over sterile and don't mind a host who knows how to set a mood, you'll feel right at home.

You're staying in the heart of WeHo, the gayborhood. Santa Monica Blvd is a few blocks away and that's the center of it all. Nightlife: The Abbey is the classic landmark. Micky's, Rage, and Beaches are all right there. Want grittier? The Eagle LA and Faultline pull a leather/bear crowd. Coffee and food: Alfred Coffee and Verve for mornings. Gracias Madre (vegan Mexican), Pingtung on Melrose, and Joey WeHo for dinner. Museums and culture: The Broad and LACMA are a short drive (don't miss the LACMA lamps). MOCA downtown, the Getty for views and art, and the Pacific Design Center right here in the neighborhood. Parks and outdoors: Runyon Canyon for the hike and the views. West Hollywood Park has a pool and is steps from the bars. Griffith Park and the Observatory are a quick drive. After dark: Circus of Books legacy lives on in the neighborhood's adult shops. The Pleasure Chest on Santa Monica Blvd is the famous one for toys and gear. Plenty of bathhouse and play options nearby if you know where to look, Flex, north hollywood spa, and the bars will point you there. Pride in June turns the whole neighborhood into a party. Everything is walkable or a quick rideshare. You're in the safest, friendliest pocket of LA for our community.

Welcome to Römer Haus. A few simple things to keep the space good for everyone: Treat the place like your own home. It's a small, curated space and I put care into every detail. Quiet hours after 10pm out of respect for neighbors. The walls are LA-thin. No smoking inside. Step outside if you need to. You'll be sharing the space with Sundae, my cat. She's friendly but does her own thing. Please don't let her out the front door, and let me know about allergies before you book. Guests beyond who's booked need a heads-up from me first. No parties or events. Please don't move or pack up the furniture. Some pieces are original Römer designs and they're more delicate than they look. Check-out is a quick tidy: dishes in the sink, trash in the bin, keys where you found them. Message me anytime. I'm responsive and I want your stay to be easy.

Matt is a great host. Loves to have a conversation and make you feel welcome. Definitely a party vibe the entire time. His cat is so sweet. Location is perfect for going out in West Hollywood. The area is beautiful

I had the best time staying with Matthew. He's the perfect host. He's fun to get to know and has great tips for places to eat, things to do, and how to get around. The location is great--close to WeHo dining and entertainment and convenient to Hollywood. I'm looking forward to staying with Matthew when I'm in LA next time!

I know that 5 stars may seem fake. But in this case, I assure you it's not. Matt is a very interesting guy, and very personable. I felt welcome from the first moment I arrived. His place is truly filled with all of his many creations. He has an incredibly friendly and affectionate cat, not to mention a very comfortable bed. I think I may have found a new friend, and will book again whenever I need a place to stay in LA.
