The Reveal

Cheery 1 bedroom studio apt attached to hip East Austin home in the heart of everything--only one mile west of downtown Austin and walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Short bus or rideshare to all Austin has to offer. Private entrance, private bath, roomy closet, kitchenette, and large private deck. Also includes off-street parking space. Kitchenette includes refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and basic utensils.

The apartment is attached to the main house, but access between the two is blocked. The apartment has its own heating and cooling system, and only one shared wall.

The apartment has a walk-in closet with a whole rack of hanging space for guests. The back rack is filled with fabulous costumes, which you're welcome to borrow during your stay--if you do more than just try something on, just let me know by leaving it on the bed at the end of your stay.

The house is located on a somewhat busy street (E 12th) so it's got more of a city feel than a suburban vibe. There are cats living in the yard, but not in the apartment itself. They will likely visit friendly guests. If you don't like cats at all, this may not be the place for you.

NOTE: MrBnb does not collect any taxes for hosts, so I pay 15 percent of your nightly rate in state and local hotel occupancy taxes.

The apartment is very convenient to downtown Austin--only 2 miles from 6th and Conress and the State Capitol!

There are lots of things to walk to within 10 minutes of the apartment, such as Nixta, a famous taco restaurant about 5 doors down. About 2 blocks away is a convenience store. In addition, there are several bars and food trailers at 12th and Chicon. Additional food and bar options about a 10 minute walk at MLK and Chicon. And about 10-12 blocks away is Manor Road, with dozens of restaurants. Getting around

Frequent bus service is available on the number 6 bus that runs right in front of the apartment. Rideshares are plentiful--usually less than a 5 min wait, and about $7-$9 on average for a ride downtown, where pretty much all the gay bars are.

If you're bringing a car, guests have use of 1-off street parking space located just off the alley to the side of the apartment.

Excellent in every way. Convenient to work I needed to do at UT, and I could walk or ride share everywhere I needed to go. Keyless entry is super easy and convenient, and allowed me not to worry about my late arrival disrupting my host. The place is bright, comfortable, and cozy. The large room has a very friendly vibe. Terrific bed, nice, well-appointed bath, small fridge, coffeemaker. There's a small desk where I could work and a desk chair that was surprisingly comfortable for hours of work. Plus--blazing fast Internet on a dedicated guest server. (Better than many hotels I've stayed at.)

This was a excellent vacation spot. As one who budgets for Lyft on my trips I was excited to see how convenient the bus was in location to the apartment to get around. Quiet place for resting and super close to everything down town. Will stay again

We were happy to have found this studio with a private deck. Tom provided detailed instructions prior to arrival and was even able to accommodate an earlier check-in. The studio is as described - modern, clean, comfortable, and with all the necessary amenities. I was worried about the cats on the property because I'm severely allergic, but we never encountered them and the room definitely didn't have any trace of them, so don't let the cats scare you off from choosing to stay here. Apparently every destination we wanted to go was over 2 miles away, and Lyfts arrived in less than 2 minutes every time. Also, if you want to feel like Mimi Eisenhower, take some time to try on some of the costumes in the closet, they fabulous!
