Note: We have both been vaccinated against Covid-19.
We require proof of vaccination to stay with us.
We have a 100-year-old bungalow close to downtown in the gayest residential neighborhood in the state: The Marmalade in West Capitol Hill. We are 7 blocks from the city center, which is a quick bus ride or minimum Uber/Lyft charge. An Uber/Lyft to and from the airport is only about $10-15. Taxi max $25.
This is a basement room with its own en-suite bath, television with Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and every Xfinity channel, and electric fireplace. You are also welcome to use the kitchen upstairs. We have a Keurig coffeemaker with assorted coffees, teas, and hot chocolate both in your room and upstairs. I generally have a bottle of wine open as well which you can share.
We have a private backyard with a large deck, outdoor shower, pond, grill, firepit, and lounges to sun on.
This is a quiet neighborhood next to a park and a half block to a bus route. There is a bar at the end of the street (formerly a gay bar, now a gay-friendly bar), and a few restaurants nearby. Downtown is one mile.
This is a clothing-optional space inside and out. You are free to be as you are most comfortable, of course. I am a naturist, so I may be sunning on the deck or working in the house au naturel.
I provide all of the amenities a hotel would, including shampoo, conditioner, soap, bottled water, towels, and full-length terrycloth robes. I also have commonly forgotten items, such as razors, earplugs, aspirin, etc. in the medicine cabinet. You will find pillows on your bed ranging from extra soft to extra firm. We also have emulated the "Heavenly Bed" with a great mattress, memory foam topper, and IKEA mattress topper, covered with 1200 thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets. Think Princess and the Pea.
I put out cereals, oatmeal, breakfast bars, apple sauce, bread and jam for toast, and fruit for breakfast.
I publish Utah's LGBTQ monthly magazine and annual directory, so you will have those available, as well as the latest issue of OUT Magazine.
A friendly dog and two cats live here as well.

"Handlebar" — a dog-friendly bicycle bar is a half-block away. Warm Springs Park, restaurants and coffee shops, library, and convenience stores are within a few blocks. A bicycle shop 2 blocks away often has bicycles for rent. Scooters are everywhere, and a bicycle sharing program is close by.
Gay Salt Lake:
• We have Harvey Milk Blvd with many boutique shops, restaurants, some coffeeshops, two gay bars, and a theater. My favorite stops are Cahoots - a card, gift and ******** shop, and Coffee Garden right next door. Try-Angles is a long-running neighborhood gay bar, and MILK+ is a new large dance club.
• Trolley Square has the best gay fashion store and another card/gift shop and is located in a mammoth old refurbished trolley garage.
• The neighborhood I'm in is a gayborhood with many historic homes and a community theater in an old onion-domed church.
• Under the Umbrella is a new LGBT bookstore
• We have 2 other gay bars - The SunTrapp is a dive bar with a big patio, and WhyKiKi is right downtown serving food during the day, dance club at night, drag brunch on the weekends, and my favorite dish: Chicks-n-Dicks (chicken fingers and dick-shaped waffles)
• 45 minutes away is a nude "beach". I say "beach" because the water of the Great Salt Lake has receded so far, it is now just a flat, sandy area. My naturist group has campouts and day trips there.
• Our local contemporary art museum often has a queer art exposition going on.
• Our queer swim team allows drop-ins on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
• Our queer square-dance group allows drop-ins on their Thursday nights.
• In the summer there are a lot of queer sports you can watch, including football, dodgeball, and softball (though the leader of the softball is no longer in town, so not sure if that will happen this year).
• There are a ton of drag brunches on weekends and Matrons of Mayhem Bingo at a Baptist Church on the 3rd Friday of the month.
• We have a three-story Utah Pride Center, though it is mostly for events and youth drop-in. They do have a self-serve coffee shop where some people hang out.
• We no longer have any bathhouses. I miss that, lol.
• Other than strictly gay places, there are a ton of places to hike, museums (probably the best natural history museum in the country IMHO), and a huge art scene.
