LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! This charming and bright split-level studio apartment is situated in the most central location in London! It is on the third floor (with a lift) of an impressive landmark historic 1889 Edwardian building with original features and a 1930’s lift, located on the world famous Charing Cross Road, close to the junction with Oxford street and Tottenham Court rd.
The flat is surprisingly quiet at night considering its central location. This is because the apartment is high above the road and has been fitted with extremely effective secondary glazing windows blocking street noise.
The comfortable double bed slides out at bed time and slides away during the day. It has a new high quality supportive hybrid mattress.
The flat is right at the center of London's gay area (Soho), bars, cafes, theaters, gay clubs. (See also gay attractions in the listing).
Just near the building - Outernet London, a new type of entertainment district opened in 2022, The largest digital exhibition space in Europe with the "world's largest LED screen deployment". (From Wikipedia) Just outside our building. (See in photos new drag extravaganza at Outernet.)
Tottenham court rd. tube station a few steps away with new Elizabeth line, directly to/from Heathrow.
Both the owner and the flat’s manager are gay and will be happy to share information re the area and its gay attractions
The building has been recently renovated. There are still some works being carried in the stairway and other flats in the building, so there might be some noise during work hours only, and the lift might occasionally go out of service, but it is usually promptly repaired.
Other important and interesting details:
1. Reviews Great reviews on various websites! ⸻ 2. Instructions for Guests (also displayed in the studio): - Hot Water – operated by a boiler switch. The water heats quickly and stays hot for a while. Please do not leave the switch on for more than 30 minutes at a time (sufficient for two hot showers). - Shower Room – please make sure the internal shower door is closed while showering, and place the bath mat on the floor. ⸻ 3. Music and Theatre History: The building and its surroundings have a rich music and theatre history: • Brian Sommerville, the Beatles’ early publicist, once lived here. • Dick James Music, the Beatles’ first publishing company was located on the 2nd floor. • Many West End actors and theatrical agents used to live in the building. • Even today, visiting West End actors sometimes book our studio.
The building stands at the corner of Denmark Street, famous as Britain’s “Tin Pan Alley” in the 1960s — the hub of music publishers, music stores, and studios. • Elton John met his writing partner in an office there. • The street’s cafés became popular hangouts for musicians. • David Bowie met his first backing group here. • Everyone from The Kinks to Stevie Wonder to Jimi Hendrix to The Rolling Stones recorded in a local studio.
More recently, the detective series Strike (written by J.K. Rowling) filmed scenes in an office above one of the street’s guitar shops, featuring Denmark Street itself in many of the scenes.
Denmark Street has been recently renovated, preserving its rare 17th-century buildings and musical character. It’s still the place to buy guitars and other instruments — and maybe even spot a famous musician!

In the 20 or so years i have come to london, the best i have ever had. Studio is very clean and convenient with everything you need in. The location is just perfect. Communication is easy and fast. 5 stars
A really nice apartment, has everything that is needed for your stay. The location is the best, around the corner of Soho and the gay street.
Awesome studio apartment to experience the Soho vibe. Great location, friendly neighbours in building, and importantly, warm and friendly hosts that made my stay very welcoming. Thanks Mo and thanks also to you ********. I loved my visit and will be back! It's little experiences like this that make visiting London so immersive and rewarding.
Sorry, I can't recommend this place.
******** is a lovely person, polite, kind. On the second day I already felt at home. The apartment has everything, although the bathroom could qualify with something to put a towel, toothbrush, etc. The building is cinematographic, under renovation, I even found the renovation a certain charm: participating in urban transformations in London. London really is post-modern. Thanks a lot ********....thanks a lot Mo!
Mo and ******** were good hosts. They responded to all my inquiries timely. The people on Misterbnb who complained about the flat are just wrong. I guess they were expecting some kind of palace and not what is depicted in pictures. As to others who complained about Mo's place because it was noisy, they are also wrong. I mean it's London what are you expecting in a big city. I didn't hear any loud noise that would have bothered me knowing I'm staying in a big city especially because the flat is in a very prime location. Maybe it's because I live in Los Angeles that the noise didn't bother me, but I really don't know. The only issue I had with the flat was with the wifi. The wifi kept going in and out throughout my entire stay there. While I understand that this is not Mo's fault, it was very inconvenient for me while I was there. If you want to stay in a local prime location for a reasonable price (at least to me it is very reasonable), then yes, I would recommend Mo's place.
Thanks for the recommendation and the nice positive review! Regarding the Wifi - the flat has the best and fasted wifi package available in the area (central London). When the guest has complained that the wifi keeps cutting out, we immediately checked with the internet provider to see if there was a problem in the area and asked them to run a check. Also on the day he left we checked ourselves during a whole day and there was no problem at all - the wifi ran smoothly and fast.
Amazing location, perfect for my needs! Though construction was ongoing during my stay, I was rarely home at the time and not bothered at all by this. Mo and ******** were very prompt with their communication, very keen to help, and overall helped me to enjoy a lovely stay in London.
Perfect for someone traveling alone and short trip as the neighborhood is VERY VERY Noisy and till 4.30AM 7days a week and the building is under heavy renovation so very noisy from 8.01AM from Monday to Saturday. The lift is useful but all my visitors been a bit afraid of as it's very old and a bit scaring. My 2nd trip here and They won't b a 3rd one! Recommend only for very short trip if u really need to b very central as it is and 3min walk from TCR (Tottenham Court Road station)
1. The beautiful building is indeed under renovation, and this is clearly mentioned in the ad. and reflected in the reduced prices for such a central location. The works are only during daytime from 8am - and weekdays only (not on weekends). 2. Yes, the building is very central in the Soho area and during the weekend there are many people outside and a popular gay club just opposite the building, but the flat is on a high 3rd floor and the double-glazed windows block most of the outside noise.. 3. Please also read the same guest's previous 5 star review:)
