Welcome to Le 1500, our independently owned boutique experience hotel in the beautiful wine country of South-West France. We are Michael and Lee, husbands, partners, and your hosts. Michael is an internationally renowned artist, and Lee has spent over two decades managing some of the world’s finest luxury hotels. Together, we created Le 1500 as a place where creativity, heritage, and hospitality meet – and where every guest feels warmly at home.
Le 1500 is set in a collection of historic buildings, some dating back to the 12th century, once part of the Château de Saussignac. The property is full of character – an eclectic blend of medieval architecture and contemporary design. Situated in the heart of Saussignac, a charming hilltop village surrounded by vineyards, rolling countryside, and the River Dordogne, we’re perfectly located for exploring the world-class wine regions of Saint-Émilion, Médoc, and beyond.
We offer eight beautifully designed rooms, including two large private residences. You can book a single room or a residence. Each space is thoughtfully styled, full of period features, and complete with its own en-suite bathroom, ensuring comfort and character in equal measure.
As our guest, you’ll enjoy much more than a place to stay. At Le 1500 you’ll find:

• A poolside kitchen & bar for relaxed afternoons in the sun
