While Lyon does not offer the same gay scene that can be found in Paris, the city offers a lively and festive Gay Pride each year to celebrate the local LGBTQ community. The parade is normally organized, by the Lesbian and Gay Pride of Lyon organization with many unions, political parties, LGBT and gay friendly human rights and trade associations. In 2021, however, the Lesbian and Gay Pride of Lyon was replaced by new organizers: "Collectif Fiertés en Lutte." This pride event gathers people from Lyon but also the whole Rhône-Alpes and Auvergne regions.
Lyon Gay Pride 2022 will transpire on Saturday, June 11. The official Lyon Gay Pride Parade will kick off from Place Geneviève Anthonioz Gaulle at 12pm. It will then make a square through the city center, before finishing things up at the city's iconic Parc de la Tête d'Or. Following this, there will be a celebration, with beverage options.
For 2022, the procession aims to blend people from all spectrums of the LGBTQ community: gay, lesbian, trans, non-binary, different nationalities, in order to promote solidarity and diversity. So if you find yourself in Lyon this June, be sure to stop by Place Geneviève Anthonioz Gaulle for Lyon Gay Pride 2022 and march with pride.
