The Reveal

Spectacular location in the best part of Norway for traveling, hiking, cycling, and visiting. It's a "must see" area and many of the pictures you will find from Norway are taken here. Many tourists take the "Norway in a nutshell" trip (train from Oslo, boat at Sognefjorden to Bergen) and this is the spot they are coming for! Single, couples or groups are welcome and i can guide and show you around. Feel free to bring drinks in the hot tub ;)

Location: The cottage is accessed via the Flåm Railway, either from Myrdal station on the Oslo-Bergen line, or from Flåm. If you have a car, it can be left at the Flåm station. Note that access to the cottage requires a 15-20 min walk uphill from the Reinunga train station. Excessively large and heavy luggage is not advised or should be left.

The cottage is located 800m above Sognefjorden under a cliff. Through the skylight in the ceiling you can see stars at night. The cottage is newly built and improvements are continually ongoing. A wooden private jacuzzi is located outside with a spectular view over the lake. For the summer period, there is a warm outdoor shower and toilet.

As the cottage is located in a remote area, you will need to bring food with you for the duration of your stay. I love trying new cuisines, so if you bring something from home, I'd be happy to share meals with you. There are no shops or reliable restaurants nearby.

I do not live in the cottage permanent and i have to scedule the trip fro Oslo myself.

I want you to be comfortable and safe while here. Weather conditions can change quickly. It's a good idea to check the forecast for Myrdal before coming. Good, warm woollen sweaters and waterproof windbreakers are useful year-round, and even a beanie/touque, and so are proper hiking shoes.

Single, couple or groups I will be more than happy to give you tips for your best holiday ever in this region.

The cottage is along the famous bicycle track through the mountain called "Rallarveien". The Flåmsbana" (the scenic train between the fjord and the mountains) and the world's longest zipline are only 15min away and are breath taking! The mountains, fjords and the waterfalls give you the best spots for hiking, paddling, cycling (and ******** pictures) ever. Bike rental from Myrdal is possible to explore the area and Klevagjelet or to Flåm or Finse. You can fish in the lake if you have a fishing license. Make sure to stop by the local goat farm to try some cheese and to take a minute to drink straight from 93m high Kjosfossen.

One of the best bnb and the most special one i have ever stayed. Entering Lars's cottage is like entering a fairy tale. Lars puts lots of the soul in his cottage, not to mention the amazing jacuzzi experience. He also drove me to the cottage from olso, showed me around the mountain and the valley, and we quickly became friends. It was really a healing trip for me in his cottage. No words can describe the experience. I will definitely return again !

Leave formal ware at the station, put on your boots and enter a magical place. The cottage, an exquisite property designed/remodeled/built by Lars himself, offers modern amenities, detailed craftsmanship and breathless views. Lars is a fantastic host, a creative chef, and a detailed storyteller who enjoys sharing about Norway and its culture and learning about other people's life journeys. You can't say you have been in Norway without experiencing the "Hytta" lifestyle, a mindset and place that is simple and connected to nature. The cottage is the perfect "Hytta" and Lars was a great mentor who helped me understanding and embracing a world where roads are made of gravel, wooden planks and kaleidoscopic moss, water flaws freely from rivers and waterfalls, and berries are just all around waiting to be picked. Thank you Lars, for memories of a lifetime!

Lars' cabin is a sight to behold. The craftsmanship he's put into it is amazing and the location can't be beat. Lars himself is very friendly and happy to show you around the mountain, picking berries or hiking the hillsides. It felt more like staying with a friend than a complete stranger. You need to be in reasonable shape to get there, but once you are you won't want to leave. Highly recommended. 👍🏼
