The Foro Italico, or Marina promenade, (called until 1861 Foro Borbonico or Foro Siciliano) is a large green area that forms one of Palermo's waterfronts. It extends from the Cala to Villa Giulia, in the Kalsa district. The Foro italico is an invitation to the sea in the city. It is possible to picnic on the lawn, enjoy excellent ice cream, visit nearby Porta Felice, the Spasimo, villa Giulia, passeggiata delle cattive, the Kalsa and the Botanical Garden. Beautiful is the waterfront with adjacent gardens, if you want you can continue to the cove by going around the harbor. Nearby is also the health park (free) recommended for children. Located at the Foro Italico, just a few steps from the sea and Porta Felice, the Health Park was born on the ashes of a portion of urban coastline abandoned and wisely redeveloped to make way for an environment dedicated to sports and outdoor activities for young and old, healthy and disabled children, the elderly and people who have a particularly frail condition due to illness. Recommended to everyone for a nice walk. Also worth mentioning is La Cala, near the Port of Palermo, which is an evocative location especially at sunset where you can find everything from moored boats to pubs to sip a good aperitif with friends. Gardens, bars, clubs, street food,sea,bars, and small beaches form a fantastic setting, especially in the evening.
It is an ideal place for a walk with your partner. There are various benches and seats and a restaurant right by the sea.
Other things to highlight
The accommodation is located inside the Limited Traffic Zone 100 meters from the access gate. The pass, even daily, can be purchased at tobacconists and Amat points. If by car, get a pass or park outside the restricted traffic zone at 100 mt: from where you are, the city will be conveniently visitable on foot!
