Koukaki Acropolis Apt, Great Location

Koukaki is a great mix in that it is a traditional Greek neighborhood but just steps away from the tourist and historical sites. One of the best bakeries in Athens is just a 3 minute walk from the apartment (Takis Bakery at 14 Misaraliotou st.).

Other restaurants/bars within walking distance to check out include: --Σκουμπρί (Skoubri) Fish Taverna at Drakou 12: 1 minute walk --Ρίζα Ρίζα (Riza Riza) Bar at Drakou 19: 1 minute walk --Brettos in Plaka at Kidathineon 41 (this is the second oldest distillery in Europe and a cool stop with its colorful bottles as a backdrop): 8 minute walk --the Wine Point at Porinou 2 in Acropolis: 7 minute walk

A nice first full day from the apartment might be: •Go to Takis Bakery (except Sunday, they are closed) to get something for breakfast, go across the street to Coffee Dive for your coffee and then take a leisurely walk up the Dionysiou Areopagitou pedestrian walkway to the Open Air Bus. Take the 90 minute ride and return to the base of Acropolis. •Go the Acropolis Museum •Walk to Makrygianni pedestrian walkway or Plaka for lunch and shopping, then go up to Acropolis main site before it closes.
