The Reveal
The Seahorse is a new non-smoking 1/1, 400sqft cozy apartment with 10ft ceilings located across the street from Lake Madeline. The apt. is located on the first floor of our home with its own private entrance along with 2 private decks overlooking the lake. When you arrive you will find the Seahorse on the first level with a yellow and blue door. Guests have use of our pool(clothing-optional) and our grounds, Koi pond, and green-house. The apt has everything you may need to enjoy your stay with us. Smoking is allowed only by the pool.
In the apartment's little kitchen, you will find everything you may need to prepare a meal. We offer a stovetop for cooking. But instead of an oven, we offer a combination microwave that is a microwave/convection oven and air fryer. It does a great job preparing your food. You will find cooking instructions next to the microwave. There is plenty of dishes and cooking utensils for your use. The 50" smart TV does have basic cable. You can get movies by logging into Netflix and other movie networks with your sign-ins.

We have lived in Galveston since 2005. We love it here and the people. My husband and I have been together since 1996, and we finally got married in 2015. We travel the world, so we may not be here when you visit as we are off seeing other hosts!

The Seahorse is located just 2 blocks from the Seawall and everything in Galveston. Guests can sit on the deck and watch the lake and enjoy the peace and quiet of the wonderful neighborhood, and possibly see the dolphins living in the lake. The pool area has 3 decks around the pool with 1, the main deck is fully covered. You may use the clothing-optional area of the pool, the main deck, and the pool at your discretion. We are across the lake from Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn water park. The Pleasure Pier is also just over 2 miles away. And minutes to all types of restaurants, bars, and grills. We are 4 miles from the Strand/Port area of downtown.
Gay Bars: We are located about 2 miles from Rumors Gay bar on the Seawall at 3102 Seawall Blvd. And just over 2 miles from the oldest gay bar in Texas, Lafittes at 25th and Ave Q. There is also a piano bar called 23rd St Station located on 23rd St and Ave O.
We the Owners, Woody and Richard live on the property on the upper 2 floors of the home. We have been hosting guests at our other properties since 2001. We've been told we have a wonderfully relaxing location here and we should share it with guests. We plan to only mingle with guests at the pool area or on any of our other upper decks around the home. Woody is an excellent gardener and keeper of his Orchid greenhouse. Guests are free to roam the 1/2 acre property. There is a cat named Missy-ann and our Boston Terrier named Spotallen on the property. Along with our 8 Koi fish and chickens. Yes, chickens, located at the far end of the pool. You won't really know they are there unless you hear them or look for them.

We will only interact with guests if they wish or need something. Smoking is not allowed in The Seahorse, but it is outside on the decks or by the pool. The pool is not heated as of yet and is available 24 hours a day. Guests may have visitors with our consent. Because we live on the property we ask that the noise level be kept to a minimum after 9 pm. We are in a neighborhood and don't want to disturb the neighbors.

These sweet fellas have thought of EVERY little detail to make your stay top notch! Forget your phone charger? aloe vera? cute l'il beach bag? They've got you. The location is very convenient to so many things, parking is simple, and even though neighbors live nearby when you're in the pool you can't see them and they can't see you. That's a huge perk! All of the flowers are beautiful, especially the tremendous orchids. I also loved that both pets were amiable to scritches. We LOVED our stay!

This place was charming, comfortable, and a pleasure to stay at. I happened to run into Woody after a plunge in the pool, and he was very amiable, inviting me to hang out for a while. The conversation was good and he's clearly a really nice guy. I wouldn't hesitate to book this place again. It was just what I needed, a comfortable little oasis when visiting Galveston.

This has been one of the best finds. 5 stars all the way! Woody and Ross communicated with me several times before my arrival and accommodated my early check in without hesitation. The queen bed was super comfortable the shower was relaxing and there is enough space inside the unit to give you and a partner plenty of space, if you want it, which brings me to the grounds...they are absolutely beautiful! Granted Texas had just experienced a bad freeze and some of the plants had been frozen, but Ross and Woody were in the process of cleaning and getting ready to replant in the spring. The koi pond, the pool and the greenhouse are places they invite you to explore. We will book this apartment every time we visit Galveston!

What a divine place to stay. The grounds are full of beautiful foliage and a private pool. Location is so peaceful and quiet too. Woody and Richard have a very welcoming feeling and checked on me everyday to make sure I didn't need anything. I have found my permanent vacation spot.

The Seahorse is a highly-recommended studio apartment that is private, yet well-situated amongst all that Galveston has to offer. It features a full-size refrigerator, gas cooktop and washer and dryer, and a pullout couch for relaxing and watching movies on a quiet evening in. The home's gardens, koi pond and pool invite relaxation and the decks offer great lake views. Richard and Woody are both quick with recommendations, suggestions and open hospitality and were excellent hosts.
