I'm a professional gay male in my early 50's who loves to travel and do so regularly both for work and for fun. I also enjoy biking, cooking, and theatre. I host for ******** in two bedrooms of my home in San Diego (haven't listed on MisterBandB yet, but plan to sometime soon!) and have achieved the designation there of Superhost! From my experience of hosting an average of 11 guests per month in my home, I definitely know how to be a good guest!

Overall, a solid stay. The bedroom was a real highlight. it has an amazing view, and the room itself is comfortable and well put together. The location is great too, especially if you want to feel like you're in the city without the constant hustle. It's quiet, but you're still just a short ride from the important spots and the gay neighborhood, so you're never far from where things are happening. Communication with the host was a little brief at times, but it didn't take away from an otherwise comfortable stay. Would consider booking again mainly for the location and the room itself.

When I arrived at the condo, Brian was not home. I sent him a text message asking if he could lower the air conditioning. His response was that I should simply open a window to cool off. I found this response unreasonable, given that the room was advertised as having air conditioning available. Brian then explained San Diego's "recommended energy-saving guidelines" and suggested that keeping the temperature higher was common practice. I explained that, as a visitor from New York, I would have no way of knowing local customs or recommendations. If restrictions on air conditioning use are part of the host's expectations, they should be clearly disclosed in the listing before a guest books the room. As reflected in the text messages, it was clear that Brian was unwilling to lower the temperature or accommodate my request. The thermostat was set to 78°F, and the room itself was particularly uncomfortable because it was on the second floor, received direct sunlight, and was located near an airport. Opening the window was not a viable solution due to both the heat and the excessive noise. Brian also stated that I was staying in someone's home and that the temperature setting was what was comfortable for him. While I understand that it is his residence, the listing specifically advertised an air-conditioned room, creating a reasonable expectation that guests would be able to enjoy a comfortable indoor temperature. Given that this stay took place in Southern California during July, I do not believe my request was unreasonable, nor do I believe that the conditions I encountered matched the expectations set by the listing. We had a wonderful stay here. The home was extremely clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Brian was responsive, friendly, and made check-in very easy. The location was perfect and close to everything we needed. We rented electric bikes and toured all over San Diego. We walked 10 mins to Little Italy. We especially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and thoughtful touches throughout the space. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thank you Brian!

I enjoyed my stay with Brian in his lovely home. I loved the patio access and large windows letting the San Diego sun and fresh air in. The location is convenient to all the spots in town, including the airport! If you're sensitive to sounds, bring earplugs. But being from Center City in Philly, the sounds of planes landing were quite soothing. Check in and check out process were easy. I enjoyed our conversations and appreciated his recommendations for the area.

Brian is an exceptional host, very warm and welcoming. I chose the balcony room and it was perfect. Ideal location made walking to grocery store, restaurants, the park very easy. Parking is a little tricky but for the most part I was able to park within a 2 block radius. I would definitely stay here again.

Brian's home is right near downtown and overlooks the water. The balcony off our room was awesome. Brian is a great host. Parking is an issue. We had to park a few blocks away a few times. The airport is nearby and landing planes fly directly over the home so it can be loud. We didn't mind. Downtown is within walking distance. We would stay with Brian again.

I enjoyed a great stay at Brian's place. Brian communicates clearly and is accommodating. The room was comfortable. The location made it easy to get to all the places in San Diego I wanted to visit. The balcony was a great place to unwind at the end of the day. I loved the thrill of the planes flying over and was amazed at how soundproof the room is with doors and windows closed.

We came in for Comic Con and wanted a place that was accessible to the convention center, but also not on site. Brian was a friendly host and his place was cute and relaxing.

I must say, I thought people were exaggerating when they said, Brian is a great host. Well... they did not! Brian is an excellent host! My room was super clean and comfortable, great view and good location, just few minutes walk from downtown. He was very welcoming and funny, he made me feel like visiting an old friend! He knows San Diego, had good recommendations for coffee, breakfast or dinner and nice conversations at his kitchen isle Thank you, Brian! Let me know, when you're in my town!!
