With 10-foot ceilings, the Dandy flats offer two beautiful one-bedroom apartment appointed with original trim work, tin ceilings, hand plastered walls, and custom textiles. It will transport you to an early 19th century boarding room filled with original artwork with a beautiful rain shower, encaustic tile, stained glass windows, and excellent bedding. With art galleries, coffee, music, food and drink just steps away, this lovely flat is central to Thomas.

Hi! We are a partnered gay couple that purchased this 1885 building in 2014 and have been bringing it out of disrepair ever since. After years of work (yes, we remodeled nearly all of this ourselves), we are happy to have two beautifully restored one-bedroom flats available for stay and two lovely retail shop spaces below. There's much more work to be done, but for now, we are welcoming friends and travelers into the building under the banner of 'Dandy Flats'. Guests can ******** on our website ******** Over the years we've watched Thomas become a dynamic and welcoming place for artists, musicians, and the LGTBQ+ community. As we built the Dandy, it was top of mind to create a safe and welcoming place for the queer community to visit and stay in rural Appalachia (where Justin was born and from). The community is wonderful, safe and welcoming. The forests and wilderness are stunning. We hope you'll visit us! Please send any questions our way.
