Centrally-located along metro line U5 and a grand Soviet boulevard in former East Berlin, this light-filled one-bedroom is the heart-filled home of a local artist. Thoughtfully renovated in 2014, some character of the historical building was retained, amended with particular details like smoked oak flooring, clacking light switches, a full modern kitchen, and attention to color, from the patina on the walls to the pop of the dining table. It's a truly cozy, welcoming space — and I don't use that in the NY way meaning tiny! It's a comfortable 60 square meters with a big ol' bathtub and lush plants I've been cultivating for years. If they could only talk...

Möbel Olfe (Tuesdays for femme, Thursdays masc), Roses, Berghain, and KitKat are all a quick train ride or a safe sloppy walk away — as is Pornceptual when it's on. I recommend a drink on the water at nearby Holzmarkt during the day and my favorite dinner in walking distance is at Briefmarken Weine.

Host recommendations

Please remove your shoes and don't smoke inside. The neighbors like it quiet after 10pm, and I ask that you keep the heating down when you leave and close any windows (great to crack wide open to create a caressing breeze) in case of thunderstorms in the summer. You'll find some welcome snack and drinks in the kitchen! Please do report any damage to me directly, so I can take care of it as quickly as possible.
