70,000 Gays expected in Barcelona for Circuit Festival 2013

Barcelona prepares for its annual gay tsunami! In just 15 days starts Europe's largest gay festival, Circuit Festival Barcelona. Circuit’s sixth edition will be held from August 8 to 18 in the Catalan capital under this year’s "Besos from Barcelona". Last year more than 70,000 gays from at least 50 countries visited.

Up to 80% of participants you will meet this summer on Mar Bella gay beach or in the Circuit clubs come from abroad. Last year, 45% came from Europe, mainly from France (15%) and the UK (11%), the others from Brazil (6%), the USA (6%), Australia (4%), Israel (3%) but also Russia and elsewhere.

Circuit Festival is a major event in Barcelona. According to its promoters, it brings nearly 100 million euros to the city! They believe that each participant spends 250 euros per day (accommodation, shopping, leisure and food) and stays an average of 7 days in the city. The circuit also would create 300 direct jobs and 600 indirect.

From August 8 to 18, Circuit will offer 18 events led by 60 DJs and performers. Big names of international gay clubbing (Rapido, The Week, La Leche, Supermartxé, Forever Tel Aviv) and recognized DJs in the gay clubbing world (Ana Paula, Abel, Pagano, Isaac Escalante, Phil Romano, etc..). Six of these parties will be held during the day, two in the new Atlàntida Barcelona, ex-Ghoa Beach Club, which replaces the Atlàntida club of Sitges, permanently closed.

The most awaited day is the "Waterpark day" with 8,000 people gathered in Isla Fantasia, the aquatic park north of Barcelona. This « water orgy » ends with musical fireworks under the stars ...

As every year, the festival will also offer a cultural program (literary presentations, lectures, debates, workshops, screenings) and sports with a beach volleyball tournament, fitness training sessions, longboard sessions and even yoga classes.

Count 20 to 65 euros for each party and 320 euros for the wristband which gives access to all parties.
