Nestled in the Indre valley, the Château des Archevêques bears witness to a long history. Built on the remains of an episcopal residence founded by Gregory of Tours in the 6th century, it became a place of pleasure for the archbishops of Tours as early as 1426.

Over time, the estate has evolved, particularly after the French Revolution when the mayor of Artannes filled in the moat. Since 1949, the château has been listed as a Historic Monument for its remarkable facades and roofs.

Today, this historic residence has become a true family chateau. We would now like to share this jewel with you, by offering you the chance to stay in a place steeped in history and charm. A unique opportunity to enjoy a timeless experience.

The grounds of Château des Archevêques are maintained in such a way as to preserve biodiversity, with lawns left a little more natural, for example, to provide a haven for birds and local wildlife. For this reason, pets are not allowed on the estate, so as not to disturb this fragile ecosystem.
