The Reveal

CozyRelaxing

Welcome to my home in East Oxford where you will find this quiet, single room. This cozy, east facing room (approx 8m2) is perfect for solo travelers looking for a peaceful stay in a residential area within walking distance to independent restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops at Magdalen Road (5 minute walk) and Cowley Road (15 minute walk). The bed can be pulled out and turned into a double - so couples are welcome - it will fill out the room so there isn't much space to move around in the room itself when used as a double.

Enjoy a comfortable bed, desk space and access to a shared bathroom, kitchen, dining and living room. Oxford's historic city centre is either a lovely 30 minute stroll along the river Thames or 10 to 15 minutes by bus (depending on traffic, bus stop is a 5 minute walk).

If you have any questions - give me shout - I'm here to help you make the most of your stay and share my knowledge of the local area

Availability can change at the last minute - so my calendar isn't always up to date. Even if dates show up as not available - just pop me a message and check - there's always a chance of the room becoming available at the last minute even if the calendar shows it as not available.

The room

- The room faces East, meaning you will wake up with the morning sun coming through your window (there are blinds so you can make it as dark as you wish). - There is a single bed, a desk with either a proper office chair or an Ercol wooden chair (it's optional to have the office chair in the room). - The upper two shelves in the cupboard will be empty so you can use those to store your clothes and personal items. - There are sockets - including USB and I can provide UK adapters for those travelling from abroad.

The house - You have access to WiFi and can make full use of coffee and tea making facilities and you can prepare breakfast, lunch or light meals in the shared kitchen. - Feel free to sit at the table in the dining room or to relax in front of the TV or snuggle up with a good book on the sofa near our wood burner. - If the weather allows it - have your morning coffee or tea in the cosy, private back garden before you head out and start your day.

Location

- Easy access to public transport - bus connections to Oxford city centre and to St Clements and/or High Street from where you can catch buses to airports (Heathrow & Gatwick) and central London (via the Oxford Tube) - I have limited parking permits - the streets around my house are pretty much all parking permit only (we are in the middle of a Low Traffic Neighbourhood). Please check with me if you wish to visit and bring your car before you book. - Oxford city centre is either a lovely 30 minute stroll along the river Thames or 10 minutes by bus (5 minute walk to the bus stop) - You have Magdalen Road within walking distance with offers independent coffeeshops, restaurants, book shops and some great pubs. - Lively Cowley Road is a 15 minute walk - Iffley Village is a 10 minute walk and will give you an instant country life vibe with some lovely walks on offer including access to Iffley Lock and some nice river side pubs

Rules

- This is my home - and these are my personal belongings so please be mindful when using them. - Keep noise levels reasonable, especially during quiet hours and respect my neighbours as you would at home. - No smoking and not pets in the house. - This is a vegetarian household - there is no problem with guests consuming non vegetarians food items in the house - just be mindful of how you store them if you use the fridge.

Tim's home is a charming one and very convenient for the centre of Oxford which is a short bus ride away. There is also a lovely riverside walk into the city. Tim was a great host, who provided great information on the city. His home is immaculately maintained and very well-equipped. There is a small garden and house and surroundings are quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended.

Tim is the kindest and most welcoming host. I thoroughly enjoyed conversation with him, into the early hours - so much so I asked to book another day! Everything is as described, and his home is thoughtfully appointed!

This was a short stay. All good. Pleasant host. Mattress was firmer than I am used to.
