Deer Creek Lodge Bed & Breakfast

Set in a rural, wooded draw, in otherwise flat northwest Ohio, Deer Creek Lodge Bed & Breakfast is a log home designed by owner Gary Westhoven and meant to be a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. Inside, the rustic log interior is juxtaposed against numerous paintings and other art work by Gary and many local artists. Numerous antiques decorate the home, not just as ornament, but as functioning furnishings and architectural embellishments. The Lodge is part of a working farm, with sheep, donkeys, geese, chickens, turkeys an ancient calico cat and a wolf hybrid pup. Set on a 44 acre farm. Besides the livestock, trails meander through the 11 acres of woods. A pond juts right up next to the back of the house and deer, coyote, fox, turkey, raccoon, opossum, mink, ducks, herons and songbirds are often within view of the breakfast table. A big, hearty country breakfast will get travelers fired up for the day, whether on the farm or any number of nearby attractions, from historic towns, to micro breweries and cozy wineries, to numerous art and historical museums and galleries, to the Maumee River (largest river feeding the entire Great Lakes), to surrounding fields of not only corn, soybeans and wheat, but potatoes, carrots, red beets, parsley, green beans and hops vines.
