Surzur is a village of rural type at the entrance of the peninsula of Rhuys. All the shops and services are present in the village. The peninsula of Rhuys is an arm of land of 25km of Surzur in Arzon between the Gulf of Morbihan to the north and the Atlantic to the south. The peninsula Rhuys borders the entire south coast of the Gulf of Morbihan. At the end of Rhuys peninsula is Arzon with its Thalasso, Casino and marina, Port Navalo. In Arzon is the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan through which the rising and falling tide creates currents among the strongest in Europe. The Gulf of Morbihan, Regional Natural Park (suitable for walks) is about 5km from us and the Atlantic (beaches, swimming and water sports) 12km by road (5km as the crow flies). On the north coast of the Gulf is Vannes, Arradon and further Auray, further west, Carnac and Quiberon. Vannes is 12km and the 4-way Quimper-Nantes is 4.5km. The situation of Surzur allows to radiate between these different places and thus proposes a variety of activities and visits. On the peninsula, the castle of Suscinio (XIII / XVth century), the Penvins sandstone with its chapel, the Petit Mont with its Cairne, the Grand Mont and the villages of St Gildas, St Jacques, Sarzeau, St Colombier , St Armel, Noyalo, Le Hézo, Tascon Island, the passage are places to visit as well as the main islands of the Gulf, the island of Moines and the island of Arz, then the islands of the Atlantic, Beautiful Island at Sea, Houat and Hoedic. Among all these villages, a large number of restaurants. Surzur has a swimming pool, Aquagolfe, which depends on the community of Vannes.

Host recommendations

Possibility of table d'hôtes, out of season, on request one week before arrival. We have a very peaceful little dog and a rather shy cat. We accept dogs to the extent that they are also peaceful. It is possible to smoke in the garden, we are non smokers. The place is calm and it allows rest and tranquility.

I had a wonderful stay. I felt comfortable right away. Marc and Hervé are very welcoming. They are very friendly, not to mention their adorable little dog Bouille. It's a charming house with a lovely flowering garden that's very pleasant. You feel at home with them. I recommend it.

Very nice welcome! Warm house and pleasant garden. Marc and Hervé are great advisors for activities & restaurants in the nearby area. In short, go there with your eyes closed ;-) (or almost, to find the road ;-)
