The Cottage by the Lake is a cozy, secret get-away on the scenic banks of the Croton Watershed. About one hour from NYC by car or MetroNorth, The Brewster Station is just 10 minutes away by car from the cottage, taxis and Uber are available outside the station. The towns of Beacon & Cold Springs about 30 minutes drive from the cottage, the orchards and country stores are some of our favorite places to visit for shopping, restaurants/bars, vintage stores and other attractions. The Cottage is on the property of an 1850 farmhouse & it has a fully equipped kitchen and bath, a working area, cathedral ceiling, working fireplace and a cozy sleeping loft, the single day bed can accommodate a third ******** private patio has Adirondack chairs, fire pit and gas bbq and offers tranquil views of the lake, the perfect place to unwind with your favorite beverage. Guests have access to the Zen garden, a perfect place for meditation or relaxing. The house-made specialty breakfast is prepared with vegetables and fruits from our property and is included in the price of each Friday and Saturday night's stay. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through our vegetable garden. Amble or jog along Maple Road and enjoy the scenic beauty of the lakeside views which are breathtaking in every season. We welcome dogs (maximum of 2). There is a large fenced in area around the pool for your friendly canine to run. Maple Road on which the Cottage is situated is a favorite for dog walkers, joggers and bicycle enthusiasts. We are a short distance from the entrance to Putnam County's extensive trails. The mineral springs swimming pool with a large lounge area and scenic views is available dependent on the season, weather and house rules. For safety, sanitary reasons and integrity of the vinyl liner, pets are not allowed to swim in the pool. Original watercolor artwork by the owner is on display throughout the cottage and the solarium of the main house available for purchase.
