Lons-le-Saunier is the capital of the Jura region, nestled in a basin surrounded by vine-covered hills at the foot of the last foothills of the Jura's first plateau. Around a salt spring, the town has grown without denying its past: architectural and thermal treasures, restored old quarters, a statue of Rouget de Lisle (a local boy), Place de la Comédie... There's always something to do, whether you're strolling along the paths of the Parc des Bains, under the arcades of the town center where the author of La Marseillaise was born, or visiting the Italian-style theater, the Casino or the Maison de la Vache qui Rit.
