★★★★★ A+ location! This listing is a private queen bedroom with a beautifully remodeled bath in the hallway. All walks of life are welcome to relax in this cozy and inviting cabin in the woods. Parkway 2 miles, Boone 3 miles, ASU 4 miles. The Bear Den is a 1950s vintage cozy mountain cabin with great vibes and modern upgrades. The host lives on the other side of the house. No kitchen or laundry access. Ages 21+ only, and at least one positive review is required. Vaxxed superhost.

ABOUT "THE BEAR DEN":
"The Bear Den" is a 1600sf 3BR 2BA cabin in Blowing Rock, NC. A stellar location between Blowing Rock and Boone with 6.7 acres of wooded privacy.
Please note that your room is quiet and private, but it is located inside the home so there is not a private outside entrance to your room. I rent 2 of the 3 bedrooms. There may be other people staying while you're here.
Due to living on a mountain, my driveway may be inaccessible in snow/ice. Sometimes I’m motivated and shovel it, other times I park and walk up/down. I will offer a full refund if the weather prevents us from access. Welcome to the mountains!
Guest access
You will get an access code at check-in that will expire after your stay. In addition to your room, you'll also have access to the common living room and dining area. I do not share my kitchen. Enjoy the common areas at your leisure. Please respect locked doors/closets.

No pets. I only allow service animals with a photo of their documentation upon booking. I am wildly allergic to cats so I cannot accommodate them in any capacity.
Please bring your own Keurig cups and breakfast items if you have favorites.
The pillows and mattress have a waterproof allergen cover. The mattress, pillows, toilet, sink, and shower are disinfected and sanitized with a virucide between each guest. If you're a "pillow particular person" please bring your own :)
The fireplace is my only source of emergency heat so it is not available for guest use.

Queer daddy bear hosting since 2013! I love black coffee, dark beers, spotted bananas, and bears! I've lived in the NC mountains for over 35 years so I can tell you all about the area and the local attractions.
I'm a jack of all trades with a full-time job. I am an NC native, well-traveled, and I hold two college degrees. I'm more of an introvert into solo sports like motorcycles, landscaping, and travel. I'm a vegetarian since 2010. I've lived in Phoenix, AZ, and in NYC. A creative thinker type. I listen to music almost 24/7. And I'm gay (sadly I have to say that here as deters some guests).
Although I've worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years I'm an introvert so I'll not blow you away with aggressive conversation (but I can certainly banter about almost anything). You'll likely not see me much as I savor privacy-- yours and mine!

"The Bear Den" is a vintage 1600sf 3BR 2BA lodge inspired cabin in Blowing Rock, NC. Intimate, inviting, and earthy. A stellar location between Blowing Rock and Boone with over 6 mountain acres of wooded privacy.
There's a spacious kitchen with granite countertops, stainless appliances, and hardwood flooring. The master suite (Bearhaven) is up 6 steps from the main level offering privacy from 2 other carpeted guest rooms (Daisy and Fern Rooms) which share a bath. Rocking chairs grace the front porch to enjoy a coffee or wine outdoors.
Please note that your room is quiet and private, but it is located inside the home so there is not a private outside entrance to your room. I rent multiple bedrooms on ********. There may be other people staying while you're here.
