We have a Blue House on the Corner located in Madison Valley. We are 15 minutes to downtown on the 11 or 8 lines -2 blocks from the Arboretum and a super market, and close to Madison Beach and the University of Washington. The house is well furnished, has a full kitchen and deck, 2 bedrooms (one queen bed and one futon) and 2 bathrooms as well as a fold out couch and an air mattress. It sleeps 6. WiFi is provided. There is ample on-street parking right in front.
For your privacy the unit has a separate entrance and address: 234 27th Ave East (this address may be used for mail and package delivery). I have lived in the building for 22 years, and I would be happy to give you a local perspective on sightseeing or dining in the neighborhood during your stay. This ground floor unit has very easy access (3 steps up). It is a spacious, house (1600 square feet) located in the heart of Madison Valley. The location is great.
The normal check in time is 1 PM and the normal check out time is 11 AM.
After staying at many Vacation Rental Properties over the past 6 years I have compiled a few points that you will appreciate about your stay with us. In addition to a well-designed house in a fine location you will also find the following: • Free Wi-Fi • CD player with CD library • A comprehensive folder with Seattle maps, bus schedules, sightseeing and restaurant suggestions • Free onsite laundry facilities including washing powder, iron and ironing board • A hair dryer in your apartment • Extra pillows, blankets, towels and wash cloths • A clean bathroom, fresh bar of soap, and facial tissues • Remodeled kitchen fully equipped to accommodate 6 guests • 1 Queen bed • 1 futon bed as well as a fold out couch and an air mattress • Easy on street parking is available. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Note: This is a NON-Smoking building. A two day minimum stay is preferred.
Transportation:
The best way with public transport from the airport (SeaTac) is via Link light rail ($2.50) to Mount Baker station. From Mount Baker station, walk across the street (Rainer Ave) and catch the 8 bus ($2.25). Take the 8 bus to the East John Street stop and then walk up the hill one block to 27th Ave East and then one block north to East Thomas Street. The entire trip from plane to door takes about an hour
Seattle has Car2Go cars. This is a good addition to public transportation for those without a car or rental of their own. There is a registration process (license, etc.) and fee ($35). Once this is done (several days for the license check), the Car2Go cars are available. There is almost always one parked within 5 minutes walking of here. Car2Go has an internet site and smartphone apps used for locating (and reserving) cars.
Montlake Bicycle rents all types of bicycles for various periods. The average first day cost is around $40. Please see their internet site for rental details.
For your privacy the Green House has a separate entrance and address: 234 27th Avenue (this address may be used for mail and package delivery). Guests have a full front yard with grill and garden.
