Sauna Thermas 205 is one of Porto's two gay saunas, a spacious, no-frills spot in the city center that stays reliably busy. Recently refurbished, it has wet and dry saunas, private cabins, a darkroom, a video room, a lounge, and a smoking area, with towels and flip-flops included on entry.

Sauna Paradise is a relaxed, mixed venue in Montijo, in the Lisbon metropolitan area, just across the Tagus from the city, open to couples and singles of all genders and orientations. Beach 19 at Costa da Caparica, 30km south of Lisbon's capital, is one of Europe's biggest gay beaches. Dunes and forest border it.

The secluded Praia João de Arens is a secluded gay beach that is located in Portugal's gorgeous Algarve region. Thanks to the area's regular warm weather, sun, and blue skies, this beach is often frequented by LGBTQ+ beachgoers throughout the year. Praia João de Arens is located on the coast in between the towns of Portimão and Alvor.

Praia Grande de Pêra beach is roughly a 20-minute, scenic walk from Armação de Pêra on Portugal's Algarve coast. It is a beautiful, long sandy beach, and many parts of it are nudist and gay-friendly.

Meia Praia beach is the largest beach on the Algarve coast, and as a result, it has become one of the region's main gay beaches. It is also unofficially a nude beach, so don't be surprised if you see plenty of beachgoers enjoying the sun and sand au natural.

If you are looking for a little more seclusion and peace and quiet while visiting the gay beaches of Portugal's Algarve region, we recommend dropping towel at Praia do Canavial. This dramatic, beautiful beach is just outside of Lagos, close to Ponta da Piedade.

Praia do Barril is a beautiful beach not far from the town of Santa Luzia. If you are hoping to drop towel, and everything else, this gay beach is for you.
