How gay-friendly is your city? What’s gay life like there?
Rome is extremely gay friendly. Something that is great is how the gay scene is not concentrated into one specific area. You can mix the breathtaking sights of the Eternal City with pitstops at many LGBTQ locales. I mean we are talking about the city of gladiators and caesars after all... If you want to have a taste of gay life in Italia, you have to come check out Roma.

What are the best gay events that take place in your city each year?
Gay Pride is a great time to step out into the streets with your pride and enjoy the idyllic Italian summer. Gay Village during the summer period is also worth visiting. It is primarily a clubbing event, but the Gay Village also brings together a whole range of cultural activities, dance, cinema, theater, musical comedy and more. There is something for everybody. When there is the the Gay Village, I like to show my misterb&b guests around because it is a big event and it can be a lot to take in.
We only have 48 hours in your city. What can’t we miss?
The walk from Pincio to Trinità dei Monti with its spectacular view. When you travel a lot, you can sometimes become a bit blasé but this is a sight that will bring you back down to ground and make you appreciate your trip. It is fantastic, in the real sense of the word. The heart of the historical center from the Trevi Fountain to Piazza Navona is also a must. Rome is one of the most photographed cities in the world. Famous for its art to its history - but also for its food… you need to make sure you pop into a really great italian restaurant during your stay. A walk along the archeological area to the Colosseum is a great way to digest the pizza, pasta, tiramisu and wine.

What’s your favorite gay place to grab a bite for lunch? A nice dinner?
Coming Out is a fabulous roman eatery where you can come as you are and feel comfortable. The food is great, and you can get a real taste of Rome while supporting a local LGBTQ buisness at the same time. Stick to places like this and you will avoid the tourist traps. As a plus, at happy hour it is full of boys. It is also a great place for a beer. And for brunch, G Brunch at Termini Station, which offers a nice atmosphere where everybody is welcome.
We’re ready to party! What are the best gay clubs?
Censured is the best gay club in Rome at the moment! Whatever you are looking for, you will find it here. I like to pop in on the weekend. While the crowd is constantly changing you can normally find some of the same friendly faces. The music is great and the guys are even better! If you are looking for a more alternative gay bar or club then I would recommend either K men’s club or Il Diavolo Dentro.

Are there any places related to LGBT history?
The park in Monte Caprino. It has been a historical cruising place since the Fascism period. Since the oppressive Fascist regime, the gay community has come here to escape the weight of societal pressure.
Can you share a secret or little-known place to visit in your city?
Oasi di Capocotta on the beach. This is really the place to be for gay beach-ing. If you’re here in the summer and feeling the call of the sea - you’ve got to make the trip. The name of the beach became known to the Italian public for a famous criminal case, the Montesi case, which would have inspired the film by Federico Fellini, La Dolce Vita.

Any beaches, parks or best other places to chill out?
Settimo Cielo and Mediterranea are cool beaches to check out. There is definitely a chill vibe in the summer. Palombini is a park where you can go at night and enjoy a moonlit walk in Roma. It could be romantic or you might find some adventure. Terrazza del Pincio, Vittoriano in Piazza Venezia and Castel Sant’Angelo offer the best views of Rome.
