Welcome to our home in central Madrid. The apartment has been fully renovated and designed by Salvatore, who is an architect, with a lot of attention to detail, comfort and character.

We live here ourselves, so it’s very much a real home rather than a rental apartment, and we hope guests feel comfortable and relaxed while staying with us. Our fully equipped apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, making it the perfect space for couples or small groups of friends. The location is unbeatable—just a two-minute walk from several metro stations and surrounded by the best that Madrid has to offer.

We believe the best way to explore this vibrant city is on foot, and we’d be happy to give you tips on the best walking routes, restaurants, bars, and museums in the area. Whatever your interests, we’re here to help you plan an unforgettable stay in Madrid.

We’re Salvatore and Rafa, a couple living in Madrid. Salvatore is Italian and works as an architect, and Rafa is originally from Seville, Spain, works in tech, and has lived in several countries over the years. We’re both very into architecture, design, travel, food, culture and meeting people from different places. Madrid is very much home for us and we have an active social life here, although at home we tend to keep things relaxed and easygoing. We enjoy hosting people who are open-minded, respectful and curious about the city, and we’re always happy to share our favourite restaurants, bars, exhibitions, neighbourhoods or LGBTQ+ spots. Our home is a welcoming and inclusive space, and we want guests to feel comfortable being themselves while they’re here.

Nearby Attractions

We’re in Embajadores, right between Lavapiés and La Latina, two of Madrid’s most lively and characterful neighbourhoods. From home you can easily walk to El Rastro, Plaza de Cascorro, Mercado de San Fernando, the Reina Sofía Museum, CaixaForum and Atocha.

For food, a few places we genuinely like around the neighbourhood are Tatema Madrid, O Pazo de Lugo La Canibal and Churreria Formula Nietos for traditional churros and porras.

Lavapiés and La Latina are very diverse and LGBTQ-friendly themselves, with a more alternative and local feel. Madrid’s main LGBTQ+ neighbourhood, Chueca, is also very easy to reach, with plenty of bars, clubs and restaurants. Some places we enjoy there are , Why Not, Chicote, Doce, You&me for drinks and DLRO Live if you’re looking for something livelier later at night.

We spend a lot of time exploring Madrid ourselves, so if you tell us what you’re into — food, cocktails, architecture, museums, nightlife, LGBTQ+ venues or something more local — we’ll happily point you towards places we actually like rather than just the usual tourist spots.

This is our home, so the main rule is simply to treat it as you would your own and be considerate of the people you’re sharing it with. We usually take our shoes off when we come in, and there’s space by the entrance to leave them. You’re welcome to use the kitchen, living room and other shared areas. Just leave things as you found them after using them. When leaving the apartment, please always lock the front door with the key. If you’d like to bring someone back to the apartment or have someone stay overnight, just check with us first. We’re quite relaxed, but as it’s our home we like to know who is coming in and out. No large parties or gatherings unless we’ve talked about it beforehand, and we just ask everyone to be mindful of noise, particularly late at night during the week. Apart from that, nothing complicated — be respectful, feel comfortable and enjoy Madrid.

We had a wonderful stay in Salvatore and Rafa's room. The space was clean, comfortable, and in a good location just a short walk from metro stations and great restaurants/cafes nearby. They were incredibly warm, accommodating and easy to communicate. I'll be back for sure :)
