The rue de Lepante district, despite its position in the hyper-center, is still not very touristy and is very much part of Nice. Just 3 minutes from Nice's main avenue and close to the train station (Monaco 20 minutes, Cannes 30 minutes, Italy 45 minutes), you'll benefit from a true neighborhood atmosphere, with a wide range of shops, particularly in the food sector, from high-end boutiques (delicatessen, specialized caterers) to gentrifying neighborhoods, including supermarkets (Carrefour City), supermarkets (Carrefour Market) and hard discount stores (Lidl), all within a 2-minute walk! At the end of the street, Nice's main thoroughfare, which has been entirely pedestrianized since 2014. A few minutes is all it takes to get to the Marché de la Libération, Nice's biggest market (you'll have to leave the Cours Saleya market to the tourists), and to try out the Food Court in the hall of the former Gare du Sud railway station, now a listed historic monument.

You're also at the foot of the Cimiez hill (Chagall Museum 7 minutes away, Matisse Museum, archaeological museum, Roman ruins, Franciscan monastery, parks and gardens, old Belle Epoque palaces). Finally, a quarter of an hour on foot is all it takes to be in the heart of Vieux Nice, after strolling along the Coulée Verte of the Promenade du Paillon and before reaching the beaches of the famous Promenade des Anglais, which borders the Baie des Anges.
