Bigger room in cosy appartment near Preikestolen and Stavanger

We had a very good welcome when we arrived in Jorpeland by Ties. The view from his apartment is just beautiful and very well located if you plan to go hiking in the Preikestolen. We recommend without hesitation

Ties is an amazing host and I enjoyed a fantastic stay with him. His lovely apartment boasts a newly renovated kitchen and a huge bathroom with a rain shower and heated floors. Plus, the views from his balcony are incredible. Ties was kind enough to cook me dinner on my first night and breakfast on my last day and both were delicious! His entire place is nudist friendly and it was nice not ever having to wear clothes. Definitely splurge and book the larger room if you can!

Description of the place is accurate and a good spot if you plan to hike Pulpit Rock. There was a mistake at the beginning (i reserved the big room and had the small room given) but agreed to just stay that way after he acknowledged the mistake. I almost decided to just a book a hotel in Stavanger but decided to stay because it was a rainy day. With stellar reviews, i had high expectations with his hospitality but I had a very cold reception and felt unwelcome in general. I tried multiple attempts to have conversations but he always have snarky responses (ex: asking what’s the prize on the tv show he’s been watching, where did he buy the nice plant screen hanger, etc...). On few times he asked something about me - it quickly escalated to an argument as I said there are “no” big businesses in Norway, with my landscape as the Fortune Global 1000. He became very angry and i said there are of course “big” businesses in Norway but he kept pointing out I said “no” earlier... I had encountered personalities like this (have the ‘need’ to be right and feel that they are better than someone) and decided to just stop the convo and I continue my own things to do. Not a good experience, but it happens. I still have hope MisterBnB is a good platform to meet people while traveling Ties seems to be a good guy - if he likes you. :)

What an AMAZING place! Ties is an exceptional host! I have been interested in coming to experience Stavanger, Preikestolen, and the wonders of this beautiful part of the world. When I saw that Ties had an offering on misterb&b, I contacted him about availability and he worked with me to accommodate my difficult schedule. When I arrived in Stavanger (very late, due to all too frequent airline delays, overbooking, and the like), Ties was the perfect host - empathic, very welcoming and chill! He went out of his way to make me feel completely at home, greeting me with a warm smile and breathtaking views from every point in his flat! Ties saw to everything, and the room was comfortable, large and equipped with all of the most modern amenities. He prepared an excellent breakfast of crepes, jams, juices and coffee. This is the best place I've ever stayed on this site! The views, the service, and Ties being such an amazing host are all reasons for my 5-star recommendation. I can't wait to come back!

Ties is an easy going guy. He is very relaxed and social. His apartment is clean and on a good location. Because of his job he knows a lot about the area, and he can give you a lot of tips. Perfect place to stay.

Very hospitable and open, polite and correct in communication. Despite my late arrival, the host was very flexible and waited for me to arrive. Very pleasant to deal with, and gives good tips for exploring the area. In short, this is where you want to stay during a trip to Norway!

If you're planning on stopping by Stavanger on your Norwegian journey, Ties and his home are the perfect place to stay. He is extraordinarily knowledgable about the entire area, especially when it comes to the many hikes and can be a great resource on planning what fjords to see. Ties is also easy to communicate with, very welcoming, and his home is charming, well located (especially if you're hiking), and has a great view. 10/10, would stay again.
