It is surrounded by vineyards from the appellation areas of St Emilion Grand Crus and Castillon Cote de Bordeaux. Facilities include a lovely bar/bistro, supermarket, butchers, chemists, as well as, postal and bakery facilities within the supermarket.

Marked in history as the town that the English lost Aquitaine to the French after 300 years of rule, Castillon la Bataille sits on the River Dordogne only 11km away********memorated each weekend annually throughout July and August with a spectacular battle recreation, local wine tasting from the region, restaurants and local craft producers.

The town also hosts a bustling market every Monday throughout the year********e early as it starts to close at lunch time!
