Villa Thamyris is a 10-minute drive from the naturist, gay-friendly beach of Capitello. LGBT people are well received in Corsica, as long as they're not ostentatious or provocative! Above all, Corsica is rich in breathtaking scenery and extraordinary natural spots. The traditional Agosta beach is a 10-minute walk away, as are the main shops (supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, souvenir shop, etc.).

There are many wonderful things about this property. First, the host Patrick is very attentive. He is really intent on making your stay as comfortable as possible. Some examples: I told Patrick how much I like fruit for breakfast, and he made sure that there was an ample selection of that at the "serve yourself" breakfast each morning. I wanted to find some good hikes, and he lent me his books that helped me find nice hikes to waterfalls. I needed a desk either indoors or in the shade to do some work on my laptop, and he set something up especially for me in a shaded area outdoors. Although the room seemed small and basic to me at first (a bed; but no desk nor chair), there is really quite a bit to these rooms: There is A/C; there is heat; there is ample closet space; nice night tables with outlets for phones nearby; full-length mirrors, etc. Each guest has their own bathroom. So even if the bathroom is not connected directly to your room, it's fine to leave all your toiletries there. And by French standards, these are a good size. I don't like to drive at night for dinner (after having an "apero" before dinner and then some wine with dinner). Luckily there are at least 5 restaurants within a safe 15-minute walking distance. And they are of decent-to-excellent quality. So, you have the benefit of being in a "suburban" neighborhood with a great view, but also there is enough close by. so that one doesn't always have to rely on one's car. This is not an exclusively a gay resort; just gay-friendly; Several hetero couples were there when I was there. Patrick makes a point of introducing everyone to everyone else, so there is a sense of comradery.
Excellent location, a few km from the centre of Porticcio, with a swimming pool and a splendid view of the bay. Comfortable rooms and a good self-service breakfast. The shared kitchen is equipped with all appliances. The rooms, three I think, all have an entrance door in the shared area of the solarium - swimming pool. There is no air conditioning in the room but the presence of a fan and, even better, leaving the entrance door open allow you to sleep quite well even on the hottest nights. It would be the ideal accommodation for a group of friends of 6 - 8 people who have known each other for a long time and who want to spend a few days of vacation together. But, when the guests have nothing in common with each other, you feel the lack of privacy (especially when you need to keep the entrance door open) and, sometimes, the discomfort of sharing common spaces such as the kitchen. No problem parking the car on the street
