Excellent host, great recommendations from the host when it came to restaurants, tourist attractions, etc. Clean room and bathroom, fantastic toiletries. Walking distance from majority of Madrid's touristy attractions. Tons of amazing restaurants nearby. Will definitely stay here on my next visits to Madrid.

This apartment is very central, with all the basic facilities, quick communication before the stay, a nice terrace and absolutely adorable dog. I came to Madrid for a week of remote working and spent more time at home than I would for a normal sightseeing visit. While the apartment is convenient, I found the atmosphere very tense. The host was always home and rarely engaged beyond brief, abrupt exchanges, mainly to reinforce rules or introduce new ones. He behaved like I was an inconvenience, not a guest. I found it hard to relax due to this, the noise (snoring, loud TV) and a sense of being monitored (all the rules and a video camera in the living room that I was not informed about). This place might suit someone who wants a central base to sleep, but not for a longer or more home-based stay, nor for anyone wanting to get to know their host. I think a hotel would offer more comfort and freedom for the same price.

This review his will be mixed. The accommodation is as described. The mattress and pillows a little hard (that is just taste). The accommodation is nice and good to have outdoor space in the city. Terry the dog is lovely. This why I thought paying that little extra compared to other offers in Madrid and on misterbnb. From here my review is not so good. I had been in touch with the host in advance via misterbnb and ******** to try to make arrangements. I heard nothing until I landed in Madrid and check in was expected anytime after 12. I was finally asked to arrive after 3pm. To find the host not as welcoming as I hoped. I fully understand this a shared space and the hosts home but did feel slightly on edge on my arrival. Of course you can not always instantly get on with everyone and maybe shyness or language barrier was in place. Guys please remember misterbnb, is not a gay dating or shag site. I am a gay man in my 60s not everyone's taste, but believe I am respectful and kind to others. I had hoped this would be a good experience of meeting a local to enjoy the home experience and culture (as I had twice before in Barcelona and Malaga). Things then took a bad turn on my first night. While eating out, I had my bag, including my wallet stolen and keys. At least I was left with my phone as in my hand. After from about 7pm calling and WhatsApping the host to explain. He finally returned to his apartment just before 2am. Leaving me with no money, on the streets of an unknown city for a extra 4 hours. His attitude towards me took the turn for the worst. I had the feeling of being unwelcome even after giving him a copy of the police report of the theft. I offered to pay for replacement keys. Later finding out included a change of lock. I explained and thought we agreed, because I had no means to do this while in Madrid, this would be on my return the UK. After my last day and leaving, I received demanding and personally insulting WhatsApps and texts. Misterbnb, the Madrid and UK police are aware. I am willing to pay on offical proof of cost and reason for charges (needed for my insurance claim). Nothing was sent to me. Back to this review, because I had no keys. We needed to arrange times via ******** I could return to apartment. It would appear even after the change of lock, no other key was offered. Therefore, we agreed to ******** times of return or when he was home. Each time (with good notice) I gave I would be told was not convenient. Again I tried to fit into his plans but after asking for this was only a one way communication. I felt very unwelcome. At times I found the host rude. Another part of the booking was breakfast was included. This is not available. There was a few snacks (pringes) and tea, coffee, cans of coke and water in the room. However the provided kettle couldn't not be safely used anywhere (the cord not long enough). A minor issue but did leave me the first day until after 2pm unable to eat. I am sure this host has been great with other guests. However it would appear unable to deal with problems out of our control. I had to stop myself saying sorry every time when we did speak. If I had the means, I would of checked into a hotel after the first night. I now want this all left behind as a bad experience. Do visit the beautiful city of Madrid and see more of Spain. Stay here after being warned. Maybe in your time, the host will have gained more maturity and understanding.

It's a clean and nicely furnished apartment in a very central location.

I had a great stay here. There's plenty of space and a nice size wardrobe to place your clothes. The shower is also a great size with good water pressure. Fran's dog is so cute and playful, but also very quiet.

Fran was a gracious host who was accommodating and provided very good recommendations for our short stay in Madrid! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was modern and clean, and we enjoyed spending time sitting in the patio area connected to our bedroom. We appreciated his hospitality and really enjoyed meeting his sweet dog, Terry!
